  • "This was a very comfortable property to stay in and was fully equipped in every way."

    Even although it was set on the roadside at the edge of town it was quiet with very little traffic noise. There is a lovely walk from the house thru’ little back lanes down to the Parrog and the coastal path walks. Mel and Richard, the hosts, welcomed us on arrival and were available (but also very discreet) should we require anything. If you like visiting gardens Dyffryn Fernant, a private garden but open to the public, is nearby and is very interesting and lovely to walk around.

  • "We really enjoyed our holiday in Middle cottage."

    It is a very clean, comfortable holiday let which is very well maintained. Everything you could require for a self catering holiday is supplied. We would make a small suggestion that perhaps some milk would be appreciated by most guests on arrival, (tea bags & sugar supplied but no milk), for that all important brew.

  • "We really enjoyed our stay in Middle Cottage, it was clean, really well located, and the village of Newport was super handy to have close by."

    Our only slight negative was that this property wasn’t as ‘dog friendly’ as we’ve previously experienced… appreciate and agree that dogs aren’t permitted upstairs and on furniture but not allowing dogs to be alone in the property for a short time whilst crated felt a bit excessive. This didn’t hold us back and we did enjoy the week but a little more flexibility around that would have been helpful.

    Thank you very much for taking time to review our cottage. We are very happy that you enjoyed your stay. Your feedback is important to us as we strive to improve our guests experience whenever we can. However, we had to set some ground rules regarding pets based on previous experiences ie. dog barking constantly during owner’s absence.   • "What a joy the cottage was and perfect for our little family and dog!"

    Initially I was worried as it’s right on the road but that was of no concern once tucked up inside and actually a short walk to the centre of Newport and in my mind absolutely perfectly placed. The hosts could not have genuinely been any lovelier it was a joy; they even gave both our boys Easter eggs as we left. If you are looking for a super clean and simple cottage then this is for you.

  • "Lovely clean, well equipped, cottage in very nice location with helpful owners."

    My one gripe was having to keep my dog downstairs and off furniture as not what she’s accustomed to… but a very nice living space and fab view from second bedroom.

  • "We enjoyed are stay at Middle cottage which was clean, comfortable and in a great location."

    We had no issue with the traffic noise, even though it is located on the main road. Newport has everything a hiker and foodie could wish for. There’s so much to offer right on the doorstep. However we advised the owners of a couple of omission (no toilet roll or welcome gift) that where expected on arrival which are shown on Sykes photos of the cottage only to be disappointed that they where never received afterwards (the owners live next door to the property).

  • "This cottage was much larger than expected."

    It was scrupulously clean and had absolutely everything we needed and more. The garden was perfect for a toddler/ young child and was totally safe. The owners were lovely and on hand if we needed any information or anything fixing. The only thing that was missing was the BBQ. This was rectified immediately. The sea/estuary is only 15 min walk from the house with glorious views. We had a fabulous holiday and it is a perfect cottage any time of the year.

  • "Middle Cottage was exceptionally clean, comfortable and well stocked with everthing we needed for our stay."

    The hosts Richard and Mel were also very warm and welcoming. The location of the cottage was perfect for our stay in Newport, Pembrokeshire. Unfortunately through no fault of the hosts/Cottage, we had to leave after 3 days of our 7 day stay. We would stay at Middle Cottage again in the future.

  • "We actually ended up staying in End cottage as the lady who owned it met us and ..."

    We actually ended up staying in End cottage as the lady who owned it met us and said it was empty and we could park right outside Cottage was spotless and was obviously very well cleaned and maintained There’s a small outside fully enclosed garden with 2 tables Great for us to relax in with our elderly dog The cottage was certainly warm enough , in fact we only used the gas wood burner ( effect ) in the evenings The views from upstairs were if the beach, so so lovely The owners live next door and were lovely people , we were greeted with a bottle of wine and Welsh cakes , such a kind though We’d highly recommend and would certainly stay here again
