bamburgh beach

Bamburgh Castle, once a Norman fort, now stands tall over the pristine sands of Bamburgh beach, backed by tall and golden dunes.

Bamburgh Beach

The beach surrounding Bamburgh Castle is a perfect place to go for windswept walks at any time of year. Despite the somewhat mild summer temperatures, the waves are perfect for a quick dip during milder months of the year, and the sand makes for great sandcastle building and beach games.

The beach is accessible through a short walk across the dunes from either the Bamburgh Castle car park or a smaller car park on the road towards Seahouses.

Discover a plethora of personalities hanging around including surfers and horse riders, as well as dog walkers and sandcastle builders. Bamburgh Beach is a wonderful location to relax for a while and watch the world go by.
