1971 Eisteddfod Gorsedd Stone Circle

Every year the National Eisteddfod is held in north or south wales and, if the town or city does not already have standing stones, stones are erected with a speaker’s stone at the centre. Eisteddfod was last held in Bangor in 1971, which is when this stone circle was created.

The National Eisteddfod is a competition and festival where artists compete for prizes in categories such as song, poetry and literature. The festival takes place in the first week of August each year, in a new setting. The aim of the festival is to celebrate welsh art and the welsh language.

The stones at Bangor are located in a peaceful valley, ideal for walking or picnics on warmer days.
