Gwydyr Forest

Get moving on your Welsh holiday with a visit to Gwydr Forest. You’ll find plenty of waymarked walking trails starting at the idyllic village of Betws-y-coed, from an easy boardwalk to steep hillside climbs.

Trails pass lakes, century-old trees, waterfalls, and the evidence of the region’s mining past. Walks also reach dizzying heights, with breath-taking views serving as a reward for walkers’ efforts.

Keen map readers can also test their skills with an orienteering course. All routes are graded to British Orienteering Federation standards and were designed by Eryi Orienteers. Courses begin just outside of Betws-y-coed and finish in the centre of the village.
