High Peak Trail

The High Peak Railway line was built to transport minerals and goods between Cromford Canal and the Peak Forest Canal. It first opened in 1831.

Following the line’s closure, the Peak District National Park purchased it in 1971 and converted it into a traffic-free walking and cycling trail.
