Penmaenmawr Museum

Penmaenmawr Museum

Penmaenmawr Museum was created to promote, preserve, and celebrate the heritage of Penmaenmawr and the surrounding area. Displaying a large range of artefacts and other items of interest, this museum makes for a fascinating way to spend an afternoon.

Items you can view here include a 5,000-year-old axe head in a modern shaft, quarry tallies, a bugle used for warning of imminent blasting in the quarry, a Victorian inhaler and crockery from the first chapel built in Penmaenmawr in 1813.

There are six history-themed scheduled talks and lecture each year that take place between October and April on the third Wednesday of every month, excluding December.

During the summer months, Penmaenmawr Museum also organises guided heritage walks around the town. The walks are free of charge, but donations are welcome.
