Spinnies Aberogwen – North Wales Wildlife Trust

This wonderful collection of lagoons and surrounding habitats supports wildlife year-round, particularly during the autumn and spring migrations of wildfowl, waders and small birds.

Situated next to the River Ogwen and the tidal mudflats, Traeth Lafan, the constant movement of the tides attract a variety of species – including the rarely sighted osprey. Tall common reed provides the perfect nest sites for moorhen as well as excellent hunting ground for grey heron and little egret.

Bird hides and feeders provide plenty of chances to get up close to the wildlife. Autumn and spring is the best time to visit for migrant birds and summer for breeding birds and an hour either side of high tide is the ideal time for views of the birds on the estuary.

Enjoy the wildlife first hand with a visit to Spinnies Aberogwen – North Wales Wildlife Trust…
