The Stand Comedy Club
The Stand Comedy Club is Edinburgh’s sole full-time comedy venue. It opened in 1995 and has since been hosting hilarious comedy shows seven nights per week.
The venue is perfect for adults over the age of 18 who are wanting to experience Edinburgh’s comedy scene. You can have a barrel of laughs, watching an array of touring and local performers!
It’s easily reached on a night out, too, with Princes Street resting moments away. The venue also serves drinks, so you can grab a local tipple, sit back and enjoy some Scottish comedy.
If you’d prefer an alcohol-free experience, you can visit during lunchtime and try the club’s renowned coffee.
On top of its daily agenda, The Stand Comedy Club also hosts several events, with the most popular being Edinburgh Fringe Festival! The comedy club is one of the major stops for the event; it gets busy around this time, so ensure you’ve booked ahead.
If you’re brave enough to get on the mike yourself, The Stand offers a weekly showcase called ‘Red Raw’. It’s referred to as the country’s best open mic night, and you can take part by applying online.
