“Excellent cottage with very good pre visit information and detail from the owner prior our visit.”

The cottage is secluded but well situated with around 20 minutes walk down a walking track to the village where there is the harbour, pub, and hotel as well as other places to eat. The beach is large rocks rather than sand so good shoes are needed.

The property

This semi-detached cottage is converted from stables on the estate which belonged to Lord Byron's daughter, at the end of a no-through lane a mile from Porlock Weir and two miles from Porlock.

Welcoming and relaxing, it is lovely accommodation for families or anyone seeking peace, good walks and challenging cycling.

From the entrance hall, turn to one side and you will see the big sitting room for curling up by the open fire, enjoying sociable meals or throwing open the French windows to the garden on a sunny day.

To the other side of the hall is the kitchen with breakfast table for a morning pot of coffee.

You will find sea views from all three upstairs bedrooms across the dramatic coastline.

A private path leads you to the pebbly beach, 150 yards from the cottage.

Around the cottage you have lawns over different levels and steep in places.

Opposite the cottage is your big enclosed garden where there is a little stream.

This is a perfect location for the great outdoors, with a beach, Exmoor's heather hills and valleys and pretty villages all around.
