This traditional stone built cottage is situated in the pretty village of Fourstones on the edge of the Northumberland National Park just four miles from the attractive market town of Hexham.
It is ideally situated for exploring UNESCO World Heritage Site Hadrian's Wall Country and the surrounding area including Kielder Water, the Northumberland coastline and Newcastle upon Tyne.
The cottage offers family and dog friendly accommodation to a very high standard, an ideal base for a Northumberland getaway.
Step down towards the cottage and be welcomed by a stable door which leads into the stunning kitchen/diner with shaker style cream coloured units and modern integrated appliances, an attractive tiled floor and a dining table with bench seating.
The ground floor also accommodates a tastefully furnished sitting room, enhanced by original wooden floorboards and doors, exceptional countryside views and a high-quality woodburner giving Stanegate Cottage a year-round appeal.
Head upstairs and discover two bedrooms, completed to a hotel room standard with homely touches and plenty of storage – the main bedroom is a good sized double with countryside views and the second bedroom offers cosy sleeping for up to three guests in twin beds, a single and a small double.

There is ample walking and cycling from the cottage and lots more in the Northumberland National Park, winner of National Park of the Year 2018 in the BBC Countryfile awards.
For stargazing, the Northumberland National Park is out of this world as it officially has the darkest skies in Europe - the Northumberland International Dark Sky Park is the largest Dark Sky Park area of protected night sky in Europe.
It is the first of its kind in England and the fourth largest in the World.
It has been awarded Gold Tier status by the International Dark Skies Association, the very highest level of award.
