“This was a great location with walks from the doorstep - 8 walking maps available at the local village shop.”

Also can order meat there. Two hospitable pubs just across the road and a lovely meal at the Golden Lion. Cottage comfortable with loads of hot water and flexible heating.

Also can order meat there. Two hospitable pubs just across the road and a lovely meal at the Golden Lion. Cottage comfortable with loads of hot water and flexible heating. Would have been great to have wifi as 4G only really working outside - however owners are going to sort this and it was actually very tranquil not having connectivity. Would definitely visit again, Thirsk and Northallerton only few miles down the road. Thanks

Osmotherley is very popular with cyclists and walkers with the Cleveland Way and the Coast-to-Coast long distance footpaths passing close by and it’s also the start (or finish!) of the famous Lyke Wake Walk. The nearby market towns of Northallerton, Stokesley, Helmsley, Thirsk and Ripon with its famous racecourse, have cobbled market squares, quaint little alleyways awash with cosy tearooms and lovely delicatessens, all offering excellent shopping and weekly markets. The historic cathedral cities of York, Ripon, Durham and Newcastle are all within an hours drive, as well as the spa town of Harrogate; this great area has something for everyone.
