Uncover the history and hidden gems of Kidwelly

The town is an ancient one, with the first written reference dating back to the 9th century. Kidwelly plays host to a Norman church and a well-preserved castle, built in the 13th century by Edward I Longshanks. Close to the castle is Maes Gwenllian, a field famous for being the site of the battle between Princess Gwenllian of Deheubarth's rebellion and subsequent beheading. There are plenty of other historic places to visit around Kidwelly, follow the black cat trail and uncover even more hidden gems.
