New Quay Cottages
Please find below a selection of self catering holiday cottages
to rent in New Quay, Wales (For Cornwall please see our Newquay cottages in
Cornwall page).
One of Wales' most fashionable holiday resorts, New Quay is
a firm family favourite and boasts a lengthy list of repeat
visitors. The setting is picturesque, with a cluster of buildings
clinging to hills rising up from a sheltered harbour.
If you like sailing and other water sports, you're in for a
treat at the Cardigan Bay Water Sports Centre, offering various
water-based activities like dinghy sailing, power boating and
windsurfing. And if your New Quay cottage holiday falls in August,
look out for the Cardigan Bay Regatta. Fishing is another popular
pastime, with the chance to catch sea bass, crab and lobster.
Another good reason to choose a New Quay cottage is to spot
bottlenose dolphins - the region is home to one of the UK's
biggest schools. Join a wildlife watching boat trip, spot them from
the pier, or view them from the coastal path.
The Ceredigion Coastal Path offers magnificent scenery and close
encounters with other wildlife too, including seals and peregrine
falcons. It's around seven miles to the colourful town of
Aberaeron - a great spot for ice-cream down at the harbour. Talking
of food, New Quay has an excellent choice of places to eat and
drink, from pub grub and international cuisine to good old fish
'n chips.
What else? Trace the footsteps of Dylan Thomas along a specially
planned trail - he lived and worked in New Quay and it's
thought the town inspired him to write 'Under Milk Wood'.
So, from dolphins to poetry, our New Quay cottage holidays are an
absolute delight!
