Then fast forward to the 21st Century to the town's latest addition that's attracting global interest - the exciting zinc and cast stone structure of the Ruthin Craft Centre, showcasing three state-of-the-art galleries, workshops and a café.

You won't find big chain stores here, but rather an inviting collection of boutique-style, independent shops focused around St. Peter's Square.
