Bowfell
Go through the gate at the start point and follow the track until you reach Stool End Farm. Continue walking past the farm. At Grid Ref NY 275 056 bear left onto the route that is known as the Band.
This waymarked path takes you to Three Tarns and is fairly steep in places. At the top of the Band, you will emerge between Bowfell and Crinkle Crags. Here you will find two or three tarns, depending on the time of year. Take this chance to rest before taking on the rocky terrain ahead.
Turn right here to begin the climb up to Bowfell. This ascent involves some scrambling that beginners may find difficult.
As you reach the summit, you’ll be rewarded for your efforts with fantastic views out to Scafell Pike, Helvellyn, and Langdale – don’t forget to snap some pictures!
