Rheged
Perched on the northern edges of the Lake District National Park is this fantastic discovery centre of Rheged. There’s plenty to do here, from kicking back in a cinema to exploring exhibitions.
The discovery centre is best known for its Rheged Cinema, where you can view all the latest flicks in an intimate setting. Rheged Cinema features an 18.3-metre-wide screen, so you can easily be immersed in the on-screen action!
The gallery is another highlight of Rheged. The space features many temporary exhibits, so there’s always something new to see here.
You can even get hands-on with the art! Rheged hosts an array of entertaining workshops, from 3D paper sculpture, calligraphy to needle-felting.
When it comes to the little ones, Rheged benefits from an indoor play area for them to let off steam in. A Making Space is also available for an added fee, where they can create their own décopatch model
An array of shops make up part of Rheged. So, after exploring the space why not pick up a treat from one of the independent stores? Homewares, clothing and local delicacies are just some of what’s on offer here!
Finish off your visit to Rheged by sitting down to a bite to eat at the on-site cafe. A handful of menus are on offer as well as a fresh deli bar.
