“The cottage was extremely well ...”

The cottage was extremely well appointed, with some really nice little touches (eg, cling film in the cupboard when we'd forgotten to bring any; teabags and coffee next to the kettle on arrival). There were eight of us in two adjoining cottages, so it was nice that our dining table extended to accommodate all of us round it. It was certainly very peaceful and the site itself is beautifully kept. ...

On the downside, it's not the easiest place to set off from walking, because the roads in all directions are extremely narrow. Also, if it is important to you, the internet connection is painfully slow.

The property

This comfortable cottage in the Village of Gardens, Pendra Loweth, is one of a group of purpose built, privately owned holiday cottages, set in a peaceful valley close to the beach at Maenporth in Falmouth.

Onsite facilities include tennis courts, children’s outdoor play area and an indoor plunge pool (seasonal opening hours) making this a practical venue for families looking for a coastal holiday.

Chough Cottage is nicely furnished with a light and spacious open plan living space with French windows opening onto a patio.

The kitchen is cleverly arranged with ample work area and there are two bedrooms; a double, and a twin.

Chough Cottage benefits from easy access to the coastal footpaths and Maenporth Cove.

Walking to the beach from your cottage will take approximately fifteen minutes, making it easy to leave the car behind for the day.

Guests wanting to enjoy a game of tennis are just a stone's throw away from the all weather courts whilst those wanting to relax will appreciate the private terrace.

Just a few minutes stroll to the central amenities, those who have not ventured to the beach may enjoy a dip in the Splash Pool or a work out in the Gym.

North Helford and Falmouth are perhaps the quintessential Cornish visitor destinations; a mix of beach, creek and woodland serve some of our most interesting and historic villages and towns.

Falmouth itself is home to the National Maritime Museum, visitors will enjoy an amble through the narrow streets and possibly a boat trip across the River Fal or up the Truro River.
