    “A Delightful and luxurious cottage.”

It had everything you could think of from great showers, comfy beds and all kinds of cooking gadgets. The beds were really comfortable. Our dog was spoilt too, even had her own doggy spa and shampoo. Simon and Emma gave us a friendly greeting and lots of local information. The surrounding area was beautiful with great walks and beaches. ...

The local pub,The Hood, served a wonderful Sunday lunch, I can see why we had to book in advance. The Plough was also excellent and served big portions. Cream tea at The Chantry tea rooms is a must for visitors. We visited Dunster Castle and village and enjoyed a great day out. We liked Watchet, which was a bit like stepping back in time and filled with friendly people. We enjoyed coffee at Blue Anchor and Pasties made locally, very tasty! A ride on the Cliff railway at Lynton/ Lymouth was fun and the views brilliant. Mine head is great for kids but too busy for us. We’re leftwith some lovely memories and hope to return to Somerset in the future.

However before resting your head, you need to venture outside and relax in the hot tub, where you can let the stresses of everyday life drift away.

Alternatively, read a chapter or two from a good book whilst lazing on the hammock, or if the weather is a little inclement snuggle down in one of the two deep leather sofas in front of the roaring woodburning stove.

An additional benefit to staying in this charming cottage is that there is no need to pack your or Fido's stuff into the car to go walkies as the Quantock Hills, which offer some of England's very best scenery are literally at the end of the garden and in addition a 3 quarter acre fenced woodland play area complete with agility course for doggie guests to enjoy.

There is also a shop and pub within walking distance, ideal for stocking up on provisions and socialising with the locals.

The small village of Kilve is situated in the Quantock Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, just five miles from the village of Williton and thirteen miles from the town of Bridgwater in Somerset. Kilve hosts a quaint pub, Post Office and shop for all your general needs, as well as the Old Chantry tea rooms, which are set in an ancient monastery. At 9,500 acres, there’s open moorland and woodlands on offer, along with an abundance of wildlife. The town of Bridgwater is also within each reach, offering several buildings of historical interest and an excellent selection of restaurants and pubs, as well as the annual Bridgwater Illuminated Carnival in November, where the use of over 20,000 light bulbs result in a mesmerising display of colour, sound and entertainment. Also in the area are a number of other beaches at Watchet, Dunster and Minehead, historical places of interest, such as Montacute House, Dunster Castle, Barrington Court, Cleve Abbey and Glastonbury Abbey, as well as the cities of Bristol and Bath, which are well worth a visit.
