"We stayed for 1 week at Rodwell Halt, 3 adults and two children."
The accommodation was spacious, super clean, well equipped kitchen and had everything we needed for a great holiday. The beds were really comfortable and the area is quiet for a peaceful night's sleep.
The accommodation is perfectly located for accessing the harbour/main seafront on foot and just a 5 minute walk down the road is the beautiful Castle Cove which is a privately owned beach with stunning views of Portland to the right and the Jurassic coastline to the left.
I would highly recommend Rodwell Halt , it was fantastic value for money and we would definitely return.

"The house was first class, with easy on-road parking always available in front of house."
The 'Rodwell Trail' (a foot/cycle path on the route of the old Portland railway line) was fantastic for walking into the town centre.

"Property is suffering from lack of regular maintenance and deep cleaning."
Surprised at cleaning levels especially at current times. Beds in twin room really uncomfortable as well as lounge and dining room furniture. However, the property was mostly well equipped, location was perfect and we had a lovely holiday overall.

"Nice clean house in outskirts of Weymouth , no problems with on street parking , shop and take away at top of road very handy ."
Delightful small beach 5 mins walk with Coffee kiosk in pretty gardens close by. Weymouth about 20 mins walk but surprisingly steep coming back! Good position to explore East and West Dorset Coasts including West Bay, Lyme Regis, Durdle Door, Swanage and even the Isle of Wight.
A welcome 2 week Holiday after Covid much appreciated by whole family

"Really nice house in a great location."
It's got everything you need. Will definitely stay again. 10 to 15 min walk to Weymouth and only a few minutes walk to Castle Cove beach which is a lovely small quiet beach.

"The house is well equipped - nice lounge furniture and beds comfortable."
There were some issues which I've advised Sykes of: damaged garden furniture, broken pelmet on lounge blind, curtains in small bedroom have missing curtain rings so curtains wouldn't close properly. The property is tired and dated and needs a bit of TLC. Good location to walk to Weymouth - about 15 minutes. I would say over-priced for what you get and wouldn't rent this property again.

"Lovely place to stay."
.bit like home from home with everything there that you would need. Close to harbour (15 mins walk) & town centre about further 5 mins walk. House also just off the Rodwell Trail which was a lovely walk to town centre one end & towards Chesil Beach the other end of the walk. Also close on that walk to Sandsfoot gardens, castle ruins & there is a lovely cafe in the gardens too.

"Lovely home and beds extremely comfortable."
The only thing I would change and this is not a complaint merely a suggestion would be the lounge furniture as although practical not very comfortable especially if like myself you have a spine /back problem.

"We had a great holiday!"
The house suited our needs with a small family and great location to walk to harbour area and town. Great area of the country to explore.
There was one small things that stopped it being 'perfect', some dishes were dirty in the cupboard on arrival, so we had to clean before use. Linked to this, the dishwasher didn't clean amazingly well!
But, these are very small things! We loved our visit and would come again

"We had a comfortable stay and would recommend this holiday home."
The on road parking was not an issue and always found a place to park. Very convenient for Weymouth, the coast and all amenities close by.

"This is a lovely place to stay, perfect location for exploring Weymouth."
This is our second time in Rodwell Halt, we had another fantastic holiday and are likely to return next year too.
It was very clean when we arrived and we had no worries staying there regarding Covid-19, with an anti-bacterial spray also provided for us to use. The house is spacious and we were very comfortable here.
Sandsfoot Beach is so close and more sheltered than the main beach in town. The castle and cafe are also nice to visit. We did lots of crabbing on the harbour and shopping in town. It is the perfect holiday for us with other attractions nearby if needed. We went to Sea Life last year and enjoyed that too. We like the walk into town as only takes 15 mins and got lots of exercise too. We also walked to Portland with nice view of the sea. Lots of good eating places too, we stuck to the well-known places - Prezzo & The Harvester, but there are lots of local pubs and restaurants too.

"Very nice property to stay at."
Plenty of space for the five of us. Plenty in the area to do and visit and easy to get out to these places from the property. Plenty of things provided at the property for you to use, WiFi, tv, freesat, DVD, books, games, outdoor seating, plenty of things in kitchen (including things you would normally not find). Not to mention the bucket and spades, crabing buckets and lines, beach shelters (3!), wind break and for the more adventures a one adult and one child blow up boat with oars (Just being a pump) - Stayed June 2016

"An absolutely fantastic cottage."
Perfect location. Everything was provided and the layout and decor was very good. Proximity to the local beach, weymouth town centre and Portland required little use of the car. I would certainly return. We have a 1 year old and it was also very suitable for her. Many thanks for making the holiday a success. Congrats to the owners for providing such a great retreat. I really wish we had stayed another week
