Such splendid scenery encourages all kinds of outdoor pursuits, from cycling along the C2C Route and exhilarating cross-country hacks, to water sports and wonderful walks along numerous trails. Make your base a Middleton-in-Teesdale cottage and you're right on the Pennine Way. This charming market town is more like a big village, framed by the Pennine Fells and nestling beside the River Tees. Enjoy its delightfully old-fashioned and very relaxing atmosphere.
