Above ground, enjoy 360-degree views as you climb to the summit of Mam Tor or up to Peveril Castle proudly looming over the village.

Pick a Hope Valley cottage near Hathersage and trace the steps of Charlotte Brontë and Keira Knightley at North Lees Hall. Discover Little John's final resting place in the local churchyard. Or test your stamina high on the rocks of Stanage Edge. Not for the faint hearted - the area is training territory for serious rock climbers - but there are less arduous routes up and the reward at the top is a feast for the eyes!
