The nearby market towns of Northallerton, Stokesley, Helmsley, Thirsk and Ripon with its famous racecourse, have cobbled market squares, quaint little alleyways awash with cosy tearooms and lovely delicatessens, all offering excellent shopping and weekly markets. The historic cathedral cities of York, Ripon, Durham and Newcastle are all within an hours drive, as well as the spa town of Harrogate; this great area has something for everyone.
