Nestled within this unique corner of England, this village offers an array of attractions and activities to suit all ages and tastes that will have you returning year after year. Whilst in Langdale, immerse yourself within its fascinating history by visiting the Little Langdale Tarn, which is of glacial origin and the volcanic looking Castle Howe which is said to have once guarded the Wrynose Pass. Alternatively, Great Langdale offers some challenging walks and spectacular views of the Langdale Pikes and Crinkle Crags. The surrounding Langdale area offers a flourish of attractions including the National Trust owned Cathedral Quarries, the highest mountain in England, Scafell Pike, and the many nearby villages and towns, including Ambleside, Hawshead, Windermere.
