Situated on the River Goyt, at the head of the beautiful Peak Forest Canal, is the peaceful little town of Whaley Bridge. The settlement is centred around a picturesque conservation area and the Grade II listed Transhipment Warehouse, one of many reminders of Whaley Bridge's fascinating industrial and aquatic heritage.

There is a variety of active things to do in Whaley Bridge. Walk or cycle along the scenic canal towpath to another such heritage site, the Bugsworth Basin, the terminus for the Peak Forest Canal and one of the largest and busiest inland canal ports in Britain. Regarded as the gateway to the Goyt Valley, with the Bugsworth Basin being the starting point of the Goyt Way, you will find plenty of fantastic walking opportunities in the area, and we have a selection of holiday cottages in Whaley Bridge that are ideal for active breaks.

The town offers plenty of places to eat and drink, as well as independent shops selling all sorts of wares from locally sourced food, fine wines, to bicycles and gifts. There is also a weekly farmers market selling some of the local area's finest wares. Our accommodating travel experts are waiting for you to secure your next UK holiday break, call 01244356666 to grab yourself one of our Whaley Bridge self-catering accommodations.
