    Mrs Davenport

“So much to do within a short distance - the accommodation was ideal - the pool- tennis court and games room and lovely well kept grounds were a great bonus.”

    Certainly recommend it

The property

Lupin is a first floor apartment in a converted stone barn at Stancombe Manor, a mile from Sherford along a country lane.

With tranquil views over the surrounding garden and orchard, it is a peaceful place with excellent facilities to enjoy.

A flight of open tread steps lead you up to your front door and into the open plan living space, all light and airy comfy seats, a well equipped kitchen and dining area and a handy double bed you can pull down.

On the same level is the en suite bedroom, conveniently flexible to be a double or a twin.

Outside is a glorious open space, 21 acres of beautifully tended gardens, orchards and woods where children and dogs have plenty of freedom and you can settle down with picnics or to have a barbecue.

There is an impressive range of things to do here, with an indoor heated swimming pool, a relaxing sauna (small extra charge), pitch and putt, a children’s play area and, if you are feeling competitive, a tennis court, snooker room and games room with table tennis and pool table.

Beyond Stancombe Manor is a fabulous coastline to explore and walk, with almost two miles of a beautiful pebbly beach at Slapton and the South West Coast Path stretching as far as you wish to walk on either side.

Kingsbridge and Dartmouth are interesting old towns with a great range of shops and places to eat, or head to smart Salcombe to admire the yachts and browse the boutiques on the waterside.

Lupin is an ideal place to relax, with lots to do on the doorstep and beautiful scenery to discover beyond.

About the location

The busy little town of Kingsbridge lies at the head of a marine estuary in the attractive South Hams area of south Devon. During the summer season there are river excursions to Salcombe to see the abundant wildlife in this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), which also forms part of the South Devon Heritage Coast. Visitors can take a walk along the Kingsbridge Quay, wander through the narrow alleys off Fore Street or visit the Shambles, an Elizabethan market arcade. Around the South Hams area there are picturesque ports, such as Dartmouth and Salcombe, together with sandy beaches at Blackpool Sands near Stoke Fleming and the two sandy beaches at Thurlestone. There are a host of small attractive villages in South Hams offering interesting pubs, local farm produce shops and pretty rows of cottages, plus further afield the waterfront city of Plymouth is a vibrant centre housing the National Marine Aquarium, historic Barbican Quay and plenty of nightlife, including theatres, restaurants and bars.
