“Ideal cottage to get away from it all.”

In a beautiful location. Like a home from home. The only problem was that we had no mobile signal and very limited internet if any. This is an island problem and does not reflect on the cottage. The owner was about when ever needed and if needed we could have used her phone. The cottage was extremely comfortable, cosy and well equipped. So would definitely recommend the place if you want a relaxing laid back holiday curled up in front of the wood burning stove in the evening and to explore the ...

So would definitely recommend the place if you want a relaxing laid back holiday curled up in front of the wood burning stove in the evening and to explore the beautiful natural land marks and hills. If the weather is bad there are numerous artists and galleries with amazing local crafts and pictures for sale, not to mention excellent places to eat. We had our dog with us and always managed to find places we could take him with us when eating out.

The property

Staffin 4 miles.

Nestled between the coast and dramatic cliffs of the Quiraing in its own wooded grounds is this historic 18th century semi-detached stone cottage.

Full of period charm, the cottage is situated next to the owner’s home in the peaceful hamlet of Flodigarry, famous for its association with Flora MacDonald, on the Island of Skye.

The cottage is situated on the north eastern coast and is an ideal base for families or couples to enjoy the great outdoors and the dramatic scenery.

From the front door you enter a small entrance hall which leads to the well-equipped kitchen and then through into the large combined living/dining area.

There is a table and chairs together with comfortable seating and a multi-fuel stove set in a lovely stone inglenook fireplace.

There is also a handy utility room where the washing machine is situated.

Upstairs there are two charming bedrooms, both of which have Velux windows and sloping ceilings.

The accommodation is complete with a family bathroom.

Outside, you have access to a portion of the owners' two acres of woodland garden, complete with stream and seating area perfect for relaxing and planning your next day's adventures.

At the bottom of the garden a well-surfaced coastal path leads down to the shoreline and one of the best beaches for fossil hunting.

A pub and restaurant is also a 10 minutes stroll from the cottage along this coastal path.

Further afield is the town of Portree, which is in a central location on the Isle of Skye, and you can explore and enjoy the marvellous scenery, together with the abundance of wildlife.

Be sure to visit the world-famous Dunvegan Castle and the coral beaches.

After a day touring, walking or fishing you can return to your comfortable cottage and relax.
