It is the nicest cottage we have stayed in through Sykes. It was beautifully furnished, very comfortable, very well equipped and set in lovely grounds. The owners Ann and Michael were very friendly and made us feel very welcome. We could have stayed longer. Definitely a 10 out of 10.

National Trust and English Heritage properties were near at hand .Matlock has a beautiful park with a paddling pool a boating lake and a lovely cafe we enjoyed watching all the children having a good time would certainly visit again.

We could see all the way down to the local reservoir from that room. As for the quality of the cottage and fittings we could not fault it and we found Mr and Mrs Kerry very welcoming and most helpful,even giving us a call after we got home to check that we had arrived safely. One of the best cottages that we have stayed at!

The large sitting room window makes the most of the panoramic scene, one seldom experienced in any other holiday property in our experience. The accommodation is tastefully furnished with comfortable seating and period ornaments and is a credit to Ann and Michael, the owners. On the second day of our holiday we were snowed in and Michael, the son, showed great concern for our wellbeing. As a couple who are in their 80’s this really made our holiday complete. “A Home from Home Vacation”

This accommodation was ideal and met all our requirements. It had everything to help make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The bedrooms were cosy and clean, the bathroom with its spacious shower was also lovely whilst the kitchen and dining area had more than adequate facilities. We spend all our evenings in the spacious living room, watching TV (as it was part of the Wimbledon fortnight!). We could not have made a better choice for our base to explore the Peak District.

“Superb views, comfortable and well-equipped cottage with friendl”

This is our fourth stay at Stubben Barn, and we are never disappointed. Mike and ann Kerry are so welcoming and nothing is too much bother for them. The cottage is superbly-equipped and very comfortable and warm. The view from the large lounge window over the reservoir is wonderful and the Matlock Hills from the side windows superb, when it is not raining!! Couldn't want anywhere nicer. Central location for visiting Derbshire.

Great hosts & everything in easy reach from walks & cycle rides. Lots of ideas in the accommodation including restaurants & upto date interests. Accommodation boasts full range of cooking eqipment & amazing heating system in the colder months. Would be somewhere I'd go back to

A delightful, detached, single-storey cottage with wonderful countryside views towards Ogston Reservoir, in a lovely position in the rural hamlet of Handley.

The small, rural hamlet of Handley is peacefully situated in the Derbyshire Dales, just 2 miles from Clay Cross which is home to a traditional shop and three welcoming pubs. The rural village of Ashover is just 3 miles away. Ashover is located in the Amber Valley, just 4 miles from Matlock, and offers a 9-hole golf course and several good pubs including the Crispin Inn, renowned as one of the oldest pubs in the Peak District. The county town of Matlock, famous for its warm springs, offers a host of fine eateries, good shops and a fascinating museum, whilst at the heart of the town, Leys Hall Park provides a lovely setting for recreational activities such as bowls, tennis and boating.
