The water running along a Ghyll is referred to as a Beck, and during Ghyll scrambling, you will scramble your up or down the Beck. This is a very family friendly activity, however, a level of fitness and a head for heights will be required

5. Rock Climbing in Coniston

Prove your nerve and rock climbing skills by climbing up a secluded quarry in Brown Howe, Coniston. ‘River Deep Mountain High’ offer a variety of courses aimed at different abilities, ranging from beginners to people with more experience. Introductory sessions will include basic skills and you’ll climb a few single pitches. Full day sessions will progress in difficulty and may include some boldering.
