Located in Cumbria, the Lake District is possibly one of the country's most cherished National Parks and would be a perfect destination for a short midweek break or long weekend with your family, friends or loved ones.

Home to magnificent hills, mountains and, of course, lakes, it's no surprise that this National Park is popular for people seeking a mini break away. From hiring a boat and taking to one of the region's famous lakes, such as lake Windermere, to lacing up a pair of boots and climbing to one of the tallest peaks in the UK, there's plenty to do in the area for those wanting to reconnect with the great outdoors.

Walks in the Lake District were popularised by the author Alfred Wainwright, whose famous walk books have recently been transformed into a television series by the BBC. From Ambleside to Buttermere, there are plenty of walks for you to explore. The more adventurous may be keen to attempt one of the area's many fell running races - a tradition that has been around for centuries and involves many people taking to the slopes to claim the first place prize.

Many of our cottages in the Lake District are available for short breaks and, whether it be a 2, 3 or 4 night stay, we have the perfect accommodation for your short stay in the Lakes. Give us a call today on 01244356666.
