Spotlessly clean, and very comfortable. Everything we needed was there, friendly welcoming hosts to this lovely warm holiday home. Many thanks

  • "Lovely property and we enjoyed our stay."

Well equipped, although I would have liked a washing machine. Felt dishwasher was not really necessary for just 2 people.

  • "The property was very clean, a major plus for me with a well equipped kitchen with everything we needed."

Good selection of pans, pyrex, oven trays and a slow cooker alongside the microwave, electric hob and oven. Minor niggles. A silicon pan trivet would have been useful and a washing machine would have been a bonus during our personal current lifestyle. A clear plastic 1/8" sheet or similar behind the bin may stop the unsightly marks on the wall behind and swapping the fridge/freezer door hinges over from right to left would be logical. No bath mat to step on when out of the shower. Duvet was very hot for summer. The traffic on the adjacent road stopped us walking directly from the house and the noise from the road during late evening early morning bothered me but I'm quite sensitive to road noise. The shower trap is constantly being syphoned from a source below leading to smells in the bathroom, we poured water into the trap short term but this is very fixable. Minor niggles aside I'd recommend and return.

  • "We had such a lovely time at Ingleborough View, the owners were so friendly but gave us our own space."

The cottage was spotless which is really important to us. We had everything we needed and the listing with Sykes was accurate. The weather was beautiful and we made the most of it and had trips out each day to the surrounding Lakes and Yorkshire Dales which are all accessible from Arkholme. Would highly recommend this holiday cottage and will be hoping to return.

  • "One of the party missed his footing going down the small flight of stairs in the morning."

We thought he had sprained his ankle but has badly fractured his ankle and is in hospital. He will be in hospital and incapacitated for several weeks. He has tested positive for covid in hospital. There was no handrail there to help his use of the stairs, or to help his fall. We feel lack of a handrail was a problem, and that it may have prevented his fall or lessened the impact. Installation of a handrail may prevent similar falls.

Ingleborough View is a very comfortable, spotlessly clean and well equipped apartment and I was greeted by friendly owners, an allocated guest parking space and a very generous welcome pack. There are walks from the door and the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales, Lancaster etc are easily accessible. I really enjoyed my holiday and am looking forward to my next visit.

Ingleborough View was true to its name, and provided the perfect base from which to explore the area: Trough of Bowland, The Lakes, Cumbrian fells and into the Yorkshire Dales. The spacious and beautifully presented apartment offered all the facilities we needed, and the basket of local treats on arrival was greatly appreciated. Thank you both very much. Marina & Adrian

  • "From the moment we walked up the steps, we felt welcome at this lovely, well-equipped and cosy first-floor cottage apartment."

Many thoughtful extras were provided, including delicious local Lancashire crisps! The apartment is tastefully decorated, very well-equipped for a couple, and well-named - we loved the view down the valley to iconic Ingleborough. This is a great location for accessing the Lune Valley, Lake District, and Yorkshire Dales, so a brilliant base. Johanna and Jason are the perfect hosts: friendly and available to provide advice and help if needed, and also professional and very respectful of guests' privacy.

About the location

HORNBY

Kirkby Lonsdale 7 miles; Ingleton 9 miles, Lancaster 9 miles.

The quiet village of Hornby, in the lovely Lune Valley, is bordered by the famous Lake District to the north, and the Yorkshire Dales to the east. A delightful village, set on an old pack-horse route, Hornby is situated close to where the River Wenning joins the River Lune. Hornby Castle is set on a high hill overlooking the river and is known as the subject of one of Turner's best-loved paintings. Consisting of a scattering of traditional houses, a beautiful Anglican church, two pubs and a local Post Office with tea room, there are several 'undiscovered' quiet walks around the village and other, more frequented walks and places of interest close by. Nearby Kirkby Lonsdale is a popular town, with the Old Devil's Bridge a delightful spot to stop for a coffee beside the River Lune, while a number of antique shops and curios can be found in the town, along with an excellent selection of restaurants and pubs. 'Ruskin's View' can also be accessed from Kirkby Lonsdale, where you may walk in the famous artist’s footsteps and experience the views that inspired him.
