  • "Really lovely accommodation and perfect for our group of 4 plus a dog."

    The kitchen was really well equipped to cook and serve delicious meals though we did struggle a little with the oven controls, a little confused by which was the fan oven. The cottage was only a few hundred yards from the Watkin path up Snowdonia and the pools and waterfalls on route were out of this world with 3 of our group braving an icy dip. Only thing, there is little outside space and no way to be able to let my dog outside without a lead. My error though in not reading the write up properly. Having said that it was so good otherwise that we would love to return in the near future to explore more of this beautiful area. The sun even shined for the whole of our 5 night stay!

    It is set in a peaceful location with good walks right on the doorstep but also near to some villages with shops and restaurants if needed. The owner is very friendly and was responsive to our questions. Will definitely be back!

    The accommodation is great with everything we needed for a week. A nice welcoming basket of goodies, quality beds, bedding, towels were all delightful. Being so close to great walks meant we didn't have to drive if we didn't want to, although we recommend a trip to Beddgelert for the ice cream!

  • "What a stunning location."

    At the start of the Watkin Path up Yr Wydffa/Snowdon, this is a must place to stay for any hillwalker. Surrounded by the delights of the Snowdon Massif and the Moelwynns, Ty Capel is ideally situated for the outdoors type, with Bedgellert, Porthmadog, Llanberis and Betws-y Coed all within a 30 minute drive. The property itself was cosy and welcoming with a beautiful real Xmas tree adorning the kitchen/diner. All the facilities you could need, comfy beds and thick duvets. Always insist on a real fire or burner, this one did the job. Would definitely come back.

  • "Ty Capel is a great place to base yourself in Snowdonia Thank you to our hosts for providing such a comfortable and well appointed house for our stay during some wild, stormy weather recently."

    After a day in the mountains it was great to come back to such a warm and cozy place. The style and decor is lovely, under floor heating throughout very welcome, living room comfy and kitchen well appointed, with everything we needed. Nice bedrooms with comfy beds. Our hosts had even gone to the effort of putting some lovely Christmas lighting and decorations to welcome us along with some very nice Welsh snacks With the start of the Watkin path just 100m away it is a great location for getting into the Snowdon range.

  • "This cottage was a lovely escape for our family."

    We travelled along way to get there but was well worth the distance travelled. It was cozy and perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring North Wales. We stayed for a week and really enjoyed both the cottage and the local area. The cottage had everything that we needed and more. The welcome pack and goodies were greatly appreciated and we all had a great time. The cottage was in our opinion excellent value for money and the owner was very helpfull with the few questions that we had. Thank you

  • "This place was lovely and set in a beautiful location."

    Right next to the Watkin path. We had a week of rain but it didn’t matter so many lovely places nearby to visit. Portmerrion and Betws-Y-coed were two of them. The cottage was set off the main road and I do feel that if a food delivery was needed they would find you. Signal wasn’t 100% but better than I thought. The village of Beddgelert very nearby and worth a visit. Cottage was very comfortable and had everything we needed. We cooked most nights. Had a lovely week with our son daughter in law and granddaughter of 2. The owner was also very helpful and welcoming which always helps to settle in and make our stay more comfortable. Thank you. Oh and don’t forget Swallow Falls amazing especially if it’s been raining.

  • "Ty Capel was everything we were looking for, and if anything the listing doesn’t do the property justice."

    There is plenty of room and the kitchen has lots of equipment. The location was superb for exploring Llanberis, Betws Y Coed, Porthmadog and the lovely local village of Beddgelert. Cracking local walks and access to all the mountains.

    Recently refurbished with lovely interior, comfortable sofa's and beds. Kitchen and dinning area well thought out with plenty of crockery and utensil. Parking off the road was easy to access. We will definitely stay here again

  • "Totally lovely cottage, amazing facilities, wet room shower is to die for… we are getting one… Cottage is in a perfect location to get to sea level and the top of Snowdon."

    Only challenge was the garden being roped off.. this meant having to take the dogs out the front door so they could do their business outside.. not a deal breaker but worth noting. The cafe next door was awesome too..

  • "Luxury cottage- everything was perfect!"

    The kitchen is extremely well stocked for a self catering holiday, with good quality equipment, and new. Spacious comfortable lounge, with blankets, and large modern T.V Bedrooms felt luxurious, beds were high quality, comfortable, good quality furniture, lovely view from front windows of the river and trees. Bathroom was again modern with a luxury feel. Lots of towels were available, downstairs bathroom was very handy with the extra shower. We were so impressed with this home and the level of thoughtfulness in renovation, it's stunning. There were so many other small touches that made you feel welcome and at home. A generous welcome pack with tea and cakes too. We will definitely be visiting again, some great walks around the area, fantastic breakfast served at a cafe a few doors up. We loved it easy 10/10 from us.

  • "If you are a walker, wild swimmer, kayaker or you just want a break in a gorgeous cottage at the foot of the Watkins Path, with Llyn Dinas within walking distance we would recommend this perfect cottage to you."

    All furniture & furnishings are good quality & very comfortable. The appliances are all good quality and in perfect working order. It’s a real home from home. We particularly loved the delicious welcome basket, the real plants and the fact that all the rooms, including the two bathrooms, are large. Communication from Edgar was the best we’ve experienced - We will definitely be back!
