  • "A lovely old property full of character and charm It was very comfortable, spacious and well equipped."

    There was plenty of outside space where we enjoyed al fresco dining and the hot tub as well of course! The location was great with easy access to countryside and coast It was good to have the town within walking distance with it's coffee shops and pubs. We would be more than happy to spend another family break there.

  • "Another wonderful weekend in this well equipped cottage."

    The weather was sunny and warm so we were able to make use of the garden as well as the hot tub. Fiona is a great host and communication was excellent. The cottage is situated within walking distance of the lovely town and surrounding walks which makes it ideal for a relaxing get together with family or friends.

  • "Coppice house was a lovely old property with everything you could wish for."

    We enjoyed the rambling old house and the closeness to the palace ruins and village. The owner provided quick response to any questions we had which was nice. The gardens felt very neglected and as we had such nice weather we spent time outside. I’m sure we were just unlucky that the gardener had not attended before we arrived and left. Also no mention of the property being on a major road which was very noisy. All in all a lovely place to stay.

    Thank you for taking time to feed back as we rely on your comments and suggestions to get Coppice Hill House as good as it can be. We were let down by two consecutive sets of gardeners but have now taken on a new company who working hard to get it back to its original beauty. I’m afraid the road is beyond our control, being located in a busy village but it generally calms after rush hour, and we have installed secondary glazing to minimise disturbance indoors at busy times. Also the garden seating on the other side of the house is much quieter. We certainly don’t want to mislead anyone so we’ll look at the listing to make sure future guests are aware. Property Owner

  • "What a lovely old house, spacious, well supplied and with some welcome Easter treats to welcome us in."

    We found the road very noisy but everything else was as expected. We were disappointed to find the local ponds inaccessible for pond dipping. The hot tub was a great success! It was really useful to have the two separate lounges and TVs but we had trouble using the DVD until it was discovered to be disconnected.

    Thank you for your feedback, it’s really important for us do we can make the house as good as it can be. There are places locally where swimming is allowed as well as the beach fairly close by, the ponds are privately owned I believe. Apologies you found one of the DVD players to be disconnected, guests do fiddle around with the wiring sometimes when plugging in their own devices. If you return, we are always available and can be contacted if anything needs sorting out. Never suffer in silence, we want you to have the best possible time. Property Owner

  • "We all had a lovely stay."

    We loved the array of games and books the beds were comfy and there was plenty of space for everyone. The wood burning fire was fab too. The only thing I would have liked to have had was some tin foil and cling film available. No huge drama as we went and bought some but would have meant the oven dishes were easier to clean. Despite being on a main road you cannot hear it from inside at all. I would recommend the property for large mixed families and the fact we could bring the dog was a huge bonus. She loved barking at the pigeons goading her from the trees in the garden. A brilliant stay.

  • "An all female family weekend."

    There was eight of us and it is difficult to find a property with enough beds, but this house fitted our needs perfectly. It was well equipped in a great location for the town and local walks. The hot tub was a lovely bonus. We had a fantastic weekend and hope to do it again soon. Thank you Fiona for your communication and attention to detail it was much appreciated.

  • "Lovely holiday home."

    Stayed here during half term and had a great time. It had everything we needed. Nice little village with 3 pubs (the nicest one was closed for a refit) but the one closed to the house was okay & very busy. Great dish & chip shop and traditional butchers.

  • "Would highly recommend this lovely house."

    It was a very homely and a chilled out place to stay. As the weather was so bad we were unable to venture out very far, but we didn't need to . The house had everything we needed, from a well equipped kitchen to games, books etc. The beds were very comfy and there was an added bonus of the hot tub. There were 2 local pubs within 5 minutes walk and a variety of shops and cafes that provided everything.we needed. It was a great central location. Thank you to the owners for a very clean house and the additional welcome pack .

    It’s full of character with lots of interesting features. The beds were all extremely comfy, the library is fantastic place to unwind, and my kids loved the hot tub. I would not hesitate to book it again if we are ever in the area.

  • "We highly recommend this stunning, beautiful cottage."

    It’s so spacious and clean and in a great location! On our arrival we had a welcome pack, a nice little touch. There was a recommendation booklet to read which was very useful as we wasn’t familiar with the area. There was plenty to do, 10 mins drive to Marwell zoo, definitely worth a visit. 20 mins to the watercress steam railway. Lovely places to go for a nice walk. Even had 2 local pubs which were a 5 mins walk. Also a good selection of restaurants. And to top all this there was a relaxing hot tub to come back to. Choices of outdoor and indoor games to play. The beds were extremely comfy. And It was a luxury to have a four poster with an en-suite. With an extra separate bathroom & downstairs shower & toilet. We will definitely be coming back!

  • "Lovely house with a very well appointed kitchen."

    Loved the study and master bedroom. Would love a couple of bar stools in the kitchen to use for breakfast and for someone whilst watching cooking prep. Gardens are more suited to big dogs but if we stayed with ours we could stop them using the steps. Nice touch to leave a hamper. Feel privileged to stay in such a beautiful family home

Bishop's Waltham, a lovely little medieval market town is nestled at the source of the River Hamble, right on the edge of South Downs National Park. The town enjoys plenty of pleasantries with traditional shopping, pub lunches and a visit to the remains of Bishop's Waltham Palace. This historical palace was destroyed in 1644 but there are still extensive ruins which are worth a look. You can stock up on essentials at the butchers, bakers, greengrocers or fishmongers - and with two pubs and various eateries, there's no shortage of places to dine. The town is also ideally located a short drive from historic Winchester, as well as Southampton and Portsmouth which will offer plenty of coastal activities at their sandy beaches. Heading into the nearby National Park, you will find a host of great walks and sights at places like Old Winchester Hill, Beacon Hill National Nature Reserve and Little Hyden Woods.
