  • "Stayed for a week, it wasn't the best!"

The garden was lovely but the house was dusty, lots of cobwebs, needed some rugs so as you're not walking on cold hard floors, you can secure rugs down without them being dangerous. We had to purchase lots of items in the kitchen, chopping boards, scissors, decent knives, even a frying pan, the only frying pan they provided was warped and didn't sit on the hob straight so it only heated up where it touched the hob, it was also too big for the dishwasher, so I replaced it for them. A good decent knife block would have been ideal so you had a choice of knives and not just an array of bread knives. The main bedroom upstairs needs decent blackout curtains or blinds, the first half of the week was quite hot and you can't even open the velux window as it slams shut, this needs attention. Some decent bedding would have been great, the quilt cover, although clean and smelt fresh, was ripped and tattered and the quilt itself was so thin it was more like an old worn out blanket. A decent information pack is needed with info on bin days, what goes in which bin, etc, instead of bits of paper sellotaped to the bins and lots of notes scribbled on light switches and plug sockets, it wasn't a good look. Like previous guests mentioned, a lot of washing up was needed when we got there as pans and cutlery were dirty, not what you expect as soon as you arrive at your holiday cottage. Only one bin liner was left and also one food caddy liner, so again, we needed to purchase more of these. A welcome pack would have been appreciated, nothing extravagant, just a pint of milk and perhaps some local produce or biscuits, even dog treats and/or poop bags, nothing was provided for our 4 legged friends at all as well as human guests! The whole place needs updating, it's very stuck in the 80's. We stay at 4 or 5 holiday cottages a year and I found this one was highly priced for the experience we had, considering the extra things we had to buy during our stay, we've paid on a par or even less for much better accommodation. So all in all, we were quite disappointed. We won't return, our stay wasn't the best I'm afraid.

  • "It was lovely staying at Twynholm, it was spacious, comfortable and well equipped ."

Situated in a residential area it was quiet and peaceful in the evenings. The dog loved the garden.

Thank you for taking the time to review us and for the lovely note in the guest book. Really glad you enjoyed the tranquility and the dog got a good run around on the big garden. Property Owner

  • "A fabulous property with everything you need and loads of little personal touches."

As 'first-time' renters you've done a brilliant job. Some small tweaks such as some more info about rubbish collection, some basic cleaning products (although I noticed these in the bathrooms on the last day) and something about the vent in the kitchen. We will be back in the future!

A pleasure to host, thank you for the outstanding feedback and the kind note you left. Yes it is a very quiet and relaxing part of the world. We are all delighted that you felt that it was a ‘home from home’ and you had all that you required. Thank you for taking the time to review Twynholm and look forward to welcoming you back in the future. Margaret, Amanda & Jennifer. Property Owner
