  • "The house was spectacular and had excellent facilities including a wine fridge and ice maker which was excellent during the hot weather."

We would definately stay again. The added bonus is there are 2 pubs close by. The only one improvement would have been to have an oven glove, but other than that spot on.

  • "Lovely spacious house with everything you need."

Beds are very comfy. Kitchen has the best appliances. Loved the dart board room as we have keen players! The hot tub is big and hot!! Pubs within walking distance and the host was easily contactable. Its a beautiful house which we all loved. There is also an outside pizza oven which we didn't use but we will the next time we go. Absolutely brilliant weekend.

Thank you so much for your lovely review! We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed stay. Property Owner

  • "We were very disappointed on arrival."

There was no bbq as advertised and the hob was broken so only 2 rings could be used. When we called we were told no one could come to fix the hob when it was found broken on tbe Sunday and as we were checking in on a bank holiday it was also impossible. Weirdly we were also told there was no way if contacting us in advance to let us know so we could amend any cooking plans accordingly. I find this hard to to believe. They admitted that the bbq needed to be removed from the list. This also affected our cooking plans for the first night. When we opened the hot tub it looked dirty. The water was murky. I was told it had been emptied and cleaned on Sunday. I didn’t really believe it but let tbe kids get in. None of tbe adults fancied it. Next day we had to stop them using it as it was just too disgusting. We called again and thankfully someone came round and emptied and refilled it so we could use it on our last day. There were other things that weren’t ideal. Windows were broken so we couldn’t open them. Keys were gone so we couldn’t get a set of patio doors open. There was clothes and food in the kitchen and bedrooms. It’s such a shame because there is a really nice space there. The kids loved the garden and the hot tub. The outdoor space was fantastic for us (although we had to pick up litter from the previous guests)

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. We are sorry that aspects of your stay did not meet your expectations. First, we apologise that a BBQ was listed as an amenity. This is an error in the property information, and it has now been removed to prevent any future confusion. Regards the induction hob, unfortunately it was damaged by the departing guest on the Sunday before your arrival. As your stay began over a bank holiday weekend, we were unable to arrange an emergency replacement before your check-in. While two hob rings remained operational, there were also three ovens, a grill and a microwave available for use. We appreciate that this was inconvenient and apologise for the disruption to your cooking plans. We did attempt to contact Sykes Cottages so they could notify you before arrival, but unfortunately we were unable to get hold of them. With regards to the hot tub it was fully emptied, cleaned and refilled on the Sunday before your Monday arrival, and this was communicated to you by the cleaner. On Tuesday afternoon you contacted us to say advise that you were unhappy with the water quality. In response, the cleaning team returned on Wednesday evening, emptied, cleaned and refilled the hot tub again so that it could be enjoyed for the remainder of your stay. We were advised that the water had become cloudy following use, which can sometimes occur when sunscreen or other products enter the water. We would also like to clarify that the windows are not broken. Keys have been removed from certain windows in the dinning room and games room following previous incidents where windows were left open after guest departed, creating a security concern for the property. There were keys available for both kitchen patio doors. We do not leave keys for the living room patio doors as we discourage guest from entering the carpeted living room directly from the hot tub area. We were surprised by the comments regarding clothing and food. The only food present was a small amount left in the freezer, which guest are welcome to use or dispose of if they prefer. We have found that many guest appreciate this arrangement. Following your departure, our cleaners did not find any clothing in the bedroom. Finally, we spoke with the cleaning team regarding the comments about litter in the garden. They advised that there was no litter left from previous guests, although there was a plant pot containing cigarette ends which should have been emptied, and they apologise for that oversight. We are pleased to hear that you and your family enjoyed the garden and outdoor space, and that the children enjoyed the hot tub. We appreciate your feed back as it helps us continue to improve the guest experience. Property Owner

  • "This property is beautiful the photos don't do it justice."

Even though we didn't travel very far you feel your miles away from anywhere. The property has everything you need for a great getaway. It is very clean, hot tub was beautiful warm & clean. Just 2 points I would make is that there wasn't much gas for the fire pit left, which would have been nice to have it on longer with it been a visit in January, also although the property states non smoking the main bedroom did smell of stale smoke. Even so I would recommend this property in future.
