  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Bankhead of Lour Cottage."

Not only it's quite and remote location were an upside for us, also it's spacious layout, it's welcoming interior design and the very good level of finishings made for a really good homebase away from home. I especially loved working with the kitchen supplies, which made the self-catering a real joy. This quality and usability unfortunately are not always a given in self-catering accommodations. We explored the area by bicycle and car and found it to be a good location to start from. We would definitely book this cottage again.

  • "This is a lovely property to stay in, it is both modern and spacious also it's position out in the countryside makes it ideal to rest and relax and take in the wild life."

We saw a eagle and quite a few deer with the odd hare thrown in for good measure. Unfortunately storm Floris hit whilst we were there on one of our day's and broke a biggish branch away from the trunk of a Oak tree at the front of the gated entrance and left it splintered still to the tree trunk, I reported this to the estate office by phone, but neither saw anyone come to look at it, nor did I receive an acknowledgement? A safety issue if ever there was one!! Apart from that, we had a lovely stay and thoroughly enjoyed looking around the area. Thank you.

  • "Peace & tranquility only a few miles from civilisation."

Perfect base for exploring the east coast & walking in the Cairngorms. Had a wonderful week here and did not want to leave. Pretty basic cottage and great value for money. Comfortable and clean, pet friendly too - What's not to love?! Awesome shower!

  • "A lovely property in a beautiful location."

It was handy for both visits to the beach and to the nearby towns and city. The only thing I would say, is that the beds and the living room furniture were not very comfortable. The kitchen however is well appointed with everything you could possibly need.
