  • "Had a wonderful week in this lovely house."

Perfect location for exploring this part of the Moray coast. Views from the upstairs bedroom are amazing. This property is finished off to a very high standard and has everything you would need including an extremely well-equipped kitchen. Communication with the hosts was excellent. Made great use of the hot tub! Would definitely recommend. Dorothy

  • "Lovely stay at the duplex flat."

Everything you need is provided for you, making it a home away from home. Location was great, the view from the main bedroom window is fantastic, with the added bonus of the provided binoculars. On street parking is tight. Further up the lane, the garden has been done to provide a lovely relaxing area, this garden also houses the hot tub however we did not use it during our stay due to its positioning on the site.

  • "The property was amazing, recently renovated with lots of love and attention gone in to making it a perfect holiday let near the sea."

The bed was so comfortable and the shower rooms great, the view from the top floor bedroom was stunning. Everything you could ask for was provided in the property and excellent quality which makes a huge difference. The hot tub (although we didn’t use it) is a well thought out private area, along with the garden area. It’s worth noting that you access these facilities from outside the property, so take robes with you! We met the host Paul who was very nice and most welcoming. He was telling us about his future plans for more rentals, if they are anything like this property, they will be outstanding! Highly recommend for a lovely, relaxed chilled out stay with lots of lovely walks on your doorstep.

  • "We had a fantastic holiday here."

The house is newly renovated and is in stunning condition, with high quality furniture. Everything you could need has been provided in the kitchen. Beautiful cosy bedrooms. The hot tub was in a private location and perfect to sit in and watch the sun go down over the rooftops. The owners are a lovely couple who made sure we had an excellent stay. My family loved our time here and are already thinking of returning for another holiday. Its in a great location a minutes walk from the village restaurant/pub. 20 seconds to the wee shop, a couple minutes lovely walk to the harbour or beach. Gardenstown itself is a great place to stay. So many little lanes to walk about. The harbour and path along to the beach is wonderful for a walk. The beach is lovely and clean. Exceptionally clean clear water to swim in. Highly recommend.

Set over two floors, the rooms are light and comfortably furnished. The owners were welcoming and keen to ensure we had a lovely stay. The view from the top floor window is spectacular. The kitchen is very well equipped and we couldn’t have wished for a better stay. Highly recommended.

About the location

GARDENSTOWN

  • Banff 8 miles
  • Fraserburgh 17 miles
  • Aberdeen 32 miles
  • Elgin 43 miles

The port village of Gardenstown is often linked with neighbouring Gamrie and Crovie as one community, and was founded in 1720 by Alexander Garden as a fishing village. Gardenstown borders a small sandy bay with stunning scenery flanking both sides. The village has a pub serving food all year and a restaurant, galleries and several tea rooms in season. A steep road leads you through the ancient, narrow and winding streets to the harbour where many small boats are moored. The neighbouring town of Banff boasts a relaxing sandy beach and a variety of fascinating architecture in contrasting styles, exemplified by Duff House, an impressive Georgian mansion open to visitors and home to paintings and artefacts from the National Galleries of Scotland. Banff and the surrounding area also have a good selection of shops, restaurants and hotels, which serve a fine selection of local sea foods, whilst nearby Pennan, a beautiful old smugglers village, was the location for the movie 'Local Hero'. The whole area is an ideal tourist destination, being on the North East Tourist Trail, with easy access to coastal paths and the Whisky and Castle Trails, as well as numerous golf courses, fishing, sailing, dolphin watching, surfing, climbing, great walking and of course, stunning sunsets and fabulous scenery. The Grampian and Cairngorm mountains are easily accessible for day excursions, and the North East of Scotland is protected from prevailing winds and has the driest Scottish climate with virtually no midges.
