"Lovely place to stay, it was a great base to explore the highlands and surrounding area."
Although we were there in a heatwave it seemed like Riemore would also be really cosy in cooler weather.

"The hosts were very friendly and made us feel welcome without being obtrusive."
Gave us very good advice about things to do in response to our many questions. The cottage was cosy and comfortable and very well situated for visiting local towns and many very scenic walks are accessible directly from the door. We'll be back!

"A lovely cosy cottage in a peaceful location."
I was worried about being cold but needn’t have as it was well heated. Pre arrival instructions were prompt and accurate. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The kitchen is quite well equipped but could do with a couple of larger saucepans to cater for 4 more easily. We would love to return.

"After an horrific journey we finally arrived at our holiday cottage, to find a warm and friendly welcome from your hosts."
The cottage was just how we expected it, a traditional scottish cottage, cosy with a nice rustic charm. The open fire and the log burner made it feel warm and snug. Our bedroom (main bedroom) the bed was so comfy and warm. The cottage itself is situated perfectly for walks around the Glenlivet Estate. The square in the town had a great village shop to provide the essentials. The Glenavon pub had a welcoming open fire with friendly staff. We had a lovely meal at the Clockwork Tower. Great place, we are sad that the week went too quick!

"Very nice property overall, situation in a quiet, convenient location on the edge of the village."
Owners very friendly and helpful. Property was cosy and comfortable with decent facilities. The kitchen could do with some updating (cooker is very old), but otherwise all was fine.

"The owners of the cottage met us on arrival and were the loveliest, most helpful couple you could ever meet!"
The cottage was clean and had everything we could need for our week long stay. The kitchen area is very small and the stairs to the bedrooms are very steep but neither of these things were an issue for us, though they may be for some people.
The cottage is located at the very end of the village close to a small adventure playground and lots of places to go for walks.
The village itself is a lovely small community with a well stocked shop, couple of cafés and gift shops, restaurant and pub. Everthing you could need really. The town museum/ visitors centre is also worth a visit

"The owners are very informative and friendly."
I needed to visit a gp on my second day there and they phoned gp surgery for me and organised for me to get an appointment. Lovely area. Only downfall with cottage are there aren't any cupboard space for storage of foods, cereals etc but cottage very cosy and immaculately clean. Lovely running hot water after long day walking. So many lovely forest walks on your doorstep, the Tomintoul circular walk being a must and if eating out the Glenavon serves good food in a very relaxed and friendly environment, dogs and kids welcome

"We had a great holiday, a beautiful area, lots to do."
The cottage was lovely, clean and well equipped and the owners were really friendly and helpful. The only complaint is the wifi is very tempermental and with 2 teenagers, and my husband who occasionally needs to check emails etc for work, wifi is essential. We did speak to the owner about it and they were having trouble with theirs too,so maybe it was the location. Some activities weren't running as usual due to covid, so hopefully next time we visit it will be back to some sort of normality.I would definitely recommend the cairngorms for those who like the outdoors and this cottage and the town of Tomintoul are also highly recommended.

"A really friendly welcome with log fires lit and waiting for our arrival."
It is an excellent place to explore all the whiskey distillery’s the area has. Nearby Grantown on Spey has a great museum with an interesting talk by one of the curators. A cracking Holiday.

"A lovely cottage, with all the amenities for true self sufficiency."
The place was immaculately clean. Lots of wood available for real fires but not needed when we stayed. Fresh towels, warm comfortable beds. A really warm welcome from the owners who genuinely wanted us to have the best of stays. Helpful & informative about the area. Two minutes away on foot from lovely wooded walks. Surrounded by nesting lapwing, deer and other wildlife. 30 minutes from Grantown and the journey is beautiful. Travelling the other way towards Deeside takes in breathtaking Cairngorm scenery. A discovery centre, shops, bars, restaurants & a serious whisky shop in Tomintoul. A lovely cottage to stay in and part of an authentic historic Scottish highland village and on the doorstep of some of the finest scenery the Cairngorms has to offer.
Highly recommended.
