  • "Absolutely lovely holiday home."

Very cosy. Very comfortable. Thank you for the welcome pack 'Rosie loved the treats'. P.S. We will be back :)

  • "Last minute decision to come away to recharge the batteries - so glad we found Capel Zion such a lovely quirky house with everything and more you could think of, made our stay very chilled."

Wished we could stay longer. Managed 3 great coastal walks and managed to identify 13 different birds just sat in the garden alone!

  • "Thank you so much for thinking of everything!"

We have had a wonderful stay, slept really well and thoroughly enjoyed the welcome wine and goodies for the dogs.

  • "Very disappointing not at all like the photos On arrival it looked unwelcoming dark and dingy, the front and back gardens are full of weeds and front path overgrown with plants and weeds The back garden was shocking its full of weeds cigarette butts and the grass is over grown just didn’t want to sit in it!"

, it’s such a shame as it could look lovely if somebody cared for it. The lounge and kitchen were full of cobwebs and the lounge is so dark and dingy, our bedroom had two electrical sockets that weren’t working!, it was very frustrating. The heating we used of an evening but had to turn it off as it stunk of oil and smoke alarms were going off and we weren’t even cooking!! Really not worth the money we paid and would not want to stay there again, I think if you produce inviting pictures of a property it should jolly well meet your expectations

We'd like to start by apologising for the experience you had at Capel Zion as it is always our number 1 priority that our guests have the best stay possible in a home exactly as advertised. Due to the vast majority of past reviews, we've always felt we hit this goal. However, we always take on board any feedback and very much appreciate the feedback you have given. The sockets in the bedrooms have all been checked & from what we've seen there doesn't seem to be a fault with any. Although we will be sure to monitor this to ensure it won't happen again. Our first steps were to have the boiler & smoke alarms checked. There were no major concerns, however, the appropriate steps have been taken to stop anything occurring in the future. We very much apologise for this inconvenience. We can only apologise for the unwelcoming feel you got from the property. As the owners of Capel Zion, we can assure you we have worked hard to create a homely feel to the property, with many extra details to help this. We will take your review on board and make any changes we feel are necessary to avoid any disappointments in the future. The maintenance of the garden will be under strict supervision going forward. This will ensure that all the finer details will not be missed & the lovely, welcoming atmosphere can be a constant. Once again, we are very sorry about your experience and do hope you accept our apologies & trust we will certaintly take everything into consideration. • "A great space with off road parking."

Comfortable beds, super wood burner but hardly any wood available. Comfortable seating in the lounge, fabulous kitchen with everything you could want. Shower floor very slippy when wet, had to buy a bath mat for safety. The hoover was too full and blocked with ginger dog hair and the bag had split. We tried to change the bag couldn't find any new ones. Garden, front and back, very disheveled and not at all like the photograps online. One bed upstairs not changed/made. Very dusty in lounge, there were f Finger prints on the ledge over the stairs and under stairs cupboard. All indoor plants dry and virtually dead. We feel that if the owners are paying people to maintain this property in their absence, they should be aware of the shortcomings . Over the years we have stayed in many self catering cottages throughout Britain and have never had to clean up/water plants before the holiday started. We expected a higher standard for the price we paid.

We really appreciate your feedback from your stay at Capel Zion and are very sorry to hear your stay didn't meet your expectations. As the owners of Capel Zion, we really do take any points made about the property seriously and value any feedback. We'd like to apologise that you weren't 100% satisfied with your stay and also thank you for the feedback as we will be sure to review all points made. Regarding the logs, a starter pack of kindling, fire lighters, and a crate of logs are provided next to the fire. We appreciate the quantities may need adjusting and are happy to review this going forward. We have now put a shower matt in the bathroom in case any of our guests feel the shower tray is a little slippy. It's not something that has been flagged up before but understand your concern. We are very surprised that you found fingerprints on the understairs cupboard and some dust in the lounge. Prior to your stay we had a deep clean of the house. We appreciate your feedback here and will ensure we review the standard of cleaning carried out to prevent this happening again. All beds are changed on every changeover. We have followed this up with our housekeeper and cross checked our cleaning schedule to check bed changes were carried out which we are informed they were. We apologise if one of the beds appeared to have been missed. We are disappointed to hear you thought Capel Zion wasn't to the standard you expected for the price you paid. We have always had excellent feedback praising how good value for money we are. We have cross checked our prices against other properties in the area and we are very competitive. Were sorry again your stay wasn't what you were expecting. Jennifer & James (Capel Zion Owners) Property Owner

  • "We have had a lovely weekend in this fantastic cottage."

It has been lovely, cosy and warm while Storm Kathleen raged outside. Walking the coastal paths has certainly been challenging this weekend, so it was wonderful to get back to the cottage and make use of the hot chocolate station. Thank you for all the little extras - welcome gifts for us and the dogs, hot chocolate bar, island information, ice machine, dishwasher and the little essentials you always forget to bring. It certainly puts the cottage above others we have stayed in. The secure back garden is a real bonus for the dogs. Look forward to visiting again

  • "This beautiful converted chapel was perfect for our family of 5 to stay in."

Plenty of bedroom space for our boys to take themselves off to when they needed to! The beds were VERY comfortable! Everything available for you in the kitchen and plenty of it so no worries about not enough cutlery etc. it has a very homely feeling about it and the extra touches were an added bonus. I loved the little welcome gift of wine and biscuits and dog treats. I also felt that the little handmade notes were a really lovely touch. Appreciated all the extra information that was available from the map in the entrance. Our only little issue was with the shower, no pressure so quite tricky to get everyone showered and sorted, but hey, it wasn't the end of the world and it absolutely would not put me off staying here again. The view from the kitchen window more than made up for it!!

  • "Absolutely amazing place!"

All the extra adds on made it even better felt as if nothing was missing. Only add on for me to give it the 10 would be a bigger tv due to amount of people and having a second toilet.

  • "Fantastic cottage for families and pets, bedrooms are all wonderfully cozy, living areas are large but still warm and snug."

Couldn’t want for anything more in the very well equipped kitchen, beautiful view from the dining room window. Great space for dogs, hard floors in the entrance so easy to clean muddy/sandy paws. Nice extras like board games selection, the ‘hot chocolate bar’, and welcome gifts of wine, cookies and dog treats much appreciated! Basics like cleaning products and salt/pepper/oil provided which makes a huge difference. Wonderful holiday had by all

The photos do not do the place justice. It has a lovely homely feel. Owners have added lots of extras to the place (not come across this before and I've stayed at many places) views from kitchen window is gorgeous. Would definitely return.
