We really appreciated the welcome pack. There is a good corner shop just across the road that sells just about everything and a dog friendly pub selling meals. Round the corner from the cottage is the best fish and chip shop, gets busy ,so you may want to pre order. Would love to stay again in this little gem.

Beds are comfy. Unfortunately the outside let this property down. Great to keep your dogs in safely but the dining furniture rusty, sharp edges and shabby. The rattan furniture as seen in picture seems to have been replaced with plastic chairs and the cushions on arrival soaked through and took us 3 days to dry them out. Such a shame as this has the potential to be a great holiday let but the outside needs looking at.

Thanks so much for your feedback. We have now replaced the outdoor dining furniture. Unfortunately we had to replace the rattan furniture as it was damaged by previous guests which left it broken. Apologies that the previous guests did not put the cushions away in on of the garden storage boxes. Property Owner

We were a party of three adults and two dogs and the cottage had plenty of room. Good enclosed rear garden so ideal for dogs. Despite being dog-friendly the cottage didn’t smell doggy at all and was very clean. Kitchen had everything we required and instructions left by the owners were comprehensive. We found the owners very easy to contact and very helpful. Newborough itself is a nice little village, there are a shop, a cafe and a very friendly pub approx. 100m from the cottage. Not a great welcome as had to clear up 4+ dog poos from garden on arrival, some had been there more than a day, obviously left from the previous occupants (you know who you are), despite reminders to clear up before leaving the property. Grass was very long and we (and our dog) didn't want to go on it. In general the property is looking sad and could do with some loving care and attention, chipped crockery, hole at base of shower entrance, paint peeling in bedroom, pads on dining chairs extremely stained and settees are saggy! Location however is great and the sun came out for us all the time we were there! Great walking on the beaches in the area.

Thank you for your feedback. Apologies regarding the issue with dog poo in the garden. We have taken your feedback on board and have addressed all of the issues you raised with regard to the decor, chairs in dining room , and decor in bathroom. Newborough forest and beach are beautiful. Yes you do have to park over the road from the cottage but this is hardly any hardship. The garden is safe and secure for the dogs and very private. The cottage is tastefully decorated and has a lovely big kitchen with all the needed facilities. The beds are very comfy. Someone commented that there is no curtain across the hallway at the back of the house. I wouldn't worry about this as there is nobody overlooking the house from the back. Yes the front door does stick so I would just suggest you go in the back way and open the front door from inside, again hardly a hardship. We had a lovely stay here and I couldn't recommend it more. Plus everything was a pleasure to use because they were nice things. There is a dishwasher which I was so happy about as I normally spend a lot of time on holiday washing up. We had very limited space in our car but as bedding and towels were included ( which were lovely and clean and fresh) and there was a washing machine it meant we needed less . The garden is nice and secure for dogs and children although I was disappointed that the rattan furniture was not there because it looked like a lovely place to sit. The dustbin did not get emptied while we were there that was the only negative thing .

  • "Directions: There is no signpost to Newborough Forest at crossroads."

Loading/Unloading: Double Yellow lines both sides of road! Front Door: Yale lock so stiff had to enter through rear door. Arrival: Arrived 2 hours after allotted time but shower base and toilet seat still wet. There is no privacy in the cottage - the windows overlooking the street should have venetian blinds. The window at the top of the stairs between the bedrooms and the bathroom has no curtain or blind - quite unbelievable. There are problems with the sink plug in the bathroom - lifting mechanism is rusty and does not operate, making it difficult to empty. The flush button on the downstairs toilet sticks in down position. Cleaning standard was exceptionally poor - lots of dust and dog hairs beside fridge and dust on lip of most skirting boards. The cutlery tray had food debris in several places. The grass on the lawn was very long (photo available) and clearly had not been cut for at least 2 weeks. Considering that we paid just under £1000.00 for this cottage, it was definitely not up to the required standard and we believe that if the owner has a conscience we should be granted a partial refund.

Apologies you had so many issues during your stay. The cottage has curtains on every window apart from the one at the top of the stairs which is in the main not overlooked. We have addressed the issue with the sink plug in the bathroom and also the problem with the downstairs toilet. We would have been more than happy to deal with your issues if you had contacted us during your stay. Property Owner

Nestled in the very heart of the Welsh village of Newborough, is this traditional semi-detached cottage dating back to 1859, boasting a sleek finish.

This quaint little property rests on the fringes of the forest and dunes of the south-west corner of Anglesey, with access to many beautiful beaches close by, the ideal retreat to bring family and friends.

Take the time to chill out in the sitting room, there is much to entertain you with a Smart TV, DVD player and BOSE Bluetooth speakers available, to be enjoyed in front of the woodburning stove on a cold wintry evening.

When it comes to preparing a meal, the kitchen is well-appointed with everything required to conveniently assist your holiday break.

Picnic sets and cool bags are also available for those adventurous days out to the beach or national parks.

Stroll through to the dining room from the kitchen, where the large table provides enough room for four with space for a highchair if you have little ones.

The two double bedrooms resting on the first floor are accompanied by a modern-style bathroom, with contemporary fixtures contrasting beautifully with the exposed stone wall, adding a touch of character and a nod to its heritage.

The exterior boasts a fully enclosed garden which extends out to the rear and occupies two lovely sitting areas for you to choose where to sit and relax, while the kids run around with the dogs.

The views from the garden are simply marvellous, and on a clear day you can see down to the Menai Strait and even Snowdonia in the far distance.

Perhaps enjoy your breakfast out here one sunshine-filled morning.

There are books and guide maps available inside the cottage to help you decide where to visit during your stay.

Nearby, Llanddwyn Bay and Newborough Warren promise alternative days out, with fabulous beach and glorious wildlife to be explored.

The fun is simply never ending with many attractions to suit all tastes.

An exquisite retreat to make the most of.
