  • "A wonderful stay!"

    This is our second time at Llety Pen Deitsh and it didn't disappoint. We stayed for several weeks as we come to the local area around this time every year. It felt like a home away from home. The apartment was spotless, easy access, comfy beds and excellent ammenities. Everything was easy to get to as well as some nice walks by the Menai Strait and the along the cycle path.   • "Fabulous property in the middle of Caernarvon, opposite the castle with views of the castle from the living space and lower bedrooms."

    Clean, modern and well equipped. You won't find better for location and comfort in my opinion. I came across the owners on the day before we left. Lovely lady who was keen to know how we found it and to provide feedback as she wanted to make sure all was well. My only recommendation would be for the heating controls as they took a little while to get used to. We loved the showers and super comfortable bed and the welcome pack of Barra brith cake, welsh shortcakes, tea, coffee, milk and a bottle of water. All for a fantastic start. We found places to park just outside the town within 10 minutes walk. Easy to find on Google maps. I have made this place a favourite as we will definitely return.

  • "We were delighted with the location and found plenty to do in and around Caernarfon."

    The neighbourhood was busy in the day but generally quiet at night and very friendly. The flat was clean, comfortable and well equipped. The parking was occasionally a challenge but the central location compensated for that. Overall we were very satisfied.

  • "An extremely comfortable and well appointed flat with everything you could need for a relaxing break."

    It's position in the middle of the town makes it perfect for enjoying the numerous pubs and eateries near by. Some other reviews have mentioned the TV but if you are used to App based viewing it's perfect for the short time spent watching it. The only difficulty we encountered was long stay parking which is not the fault of the owners who fortunately left concise instructions on where we might find free parking and fortunately we did. The only downside was we were then frightened to move our car as we would lose our spot. The local council offer no weekly parking scheme and all the local car parks are either limited in the length of stay or charge 24 hours a day (over £17 daily) for the entire week including Sunday. It really is a tax on visitors who travel by car and was a regular topic of conversation with other visitors. That said if you can get some free parking the flat is perfect for enjoying the area however if you can't find any free parking factor in the extra cost as it's not insignificant!

  • "The flat exceeded our expectations by being extremely well appointed and much larger than expected."

    Its central location - opposite the castle entrance, adjacent to the castle square (Maes) and within the old town walls - was perfect for our needs, and it is in within very easy walking distance of several car parks that can be booked in advance. The 45 minute waiting area outside the flat door was convenient and regularly available too. Our only comments concern the TV and seagulls. Not being internet experts, we found the need to find live broadcasts (ie news) via Freeview channels a bit tricky but perfectly manageable. As for seagulls, it is of course inevitable that the town is home to scores of herring gulls, but they do wake up and chatter on the flat's roof and he castle walls very loudly to eachother much earlier than we do! None of these points, however, would prevent us from booking again or recommending the flats to our friends as a terrific place to stay.

    Right opposite entrance to the castle! Great centre for touring around North Wales. Easy to park after 4.30 right outside the flat.

  • "Stunning apartment in the heart of caernarfon."

    Couldn't have asked for a better base for the holiday. Very comfortable stay and would definitely return. Issue raised with the en suite bathroom drainage and this was in hand and being dealt with promptly after reporting. Thanks for an excellent stay.

  • "The apartment was very nice as had recently been refurbished."

    There was plenty of space and the bedrooms were a good size with the most comfortable beds we have ever slept in. Lovely bedding too. No issues with the actual apartments really. The flush on one of the toilets stopped working on Sunday but we had 2 toilets so just reported it on Monday morning when checked out. We did struggle a lot with the noise from the pub directly next door on Friday & Saturday nights. Friday was very loud Karaoke until 2am, and on Saturday live music until 2am. There was crowds drinking outside, very rowdy until closing time.The windows are only single glazed in the front 2 bedrooms and it was impossible to sleep until the pub had shut and finished kicking out. Bottle skips/bins being done at 2.30 in the morning. We could have maybe coped if it was until 12.30 ish but we struggled as was 2 consecutive nights. The road sweeper then comes round at 6am! Sunday night was fine as nothing on next door. Good apartment for anyone intending to be out until the early hours at the bars/pubs or who can sleep through anything.

Caernarfon (county town of Gwynedd) has much historic and cultural importance in North Wales. It is a popular tourist spot with its impressive 13th Century castle, well preserved town walls and delightful water front. During the season there are guided tours of the castle and special events including historic pageants. There is also a station for the Welsh Highland Railway, which passes through dramatic scenery, the village of Beddgelert and onto Porthmadog. Boat trips are available from the harbour and another attraction within walking distance of the town centre is Segontium, a Roman fort and museum, housing many important finds. Caernarfon offers a wide selection of shops and places to eat and is close to the lovely beaches of Ynys Mon (Anglesey) and the Lleyn Peninsula as well as the mountains and rivers of Eryri (Snowdonia National Park), including the renowned mountaineering town of Llanberis at the foot of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon).
