  • “The cottage did not meet Covid requirements, there were 10!”

cushions on the bed, the warm tub was not checked all week and the shower was dirty. The cottage is very noisy, you can hear conversations next door. There were no instructions on how to work tv, freeview etc. To open the fridge door you had to open the outer freezer door because they were fitted wroongly. Kitchen lighting was very poor. No comments book or guest guides.

Thank you for your feedback. The comments you have made are very out of character for this property. One of the owners met you on arrival and also provided his contact details and said to contact him if there were any issues during your stay. It is disappointing that you did not make these issues known until after your plan stay had ended. Accordingly, we were not able to take any action before you left. The property is cleaned to Covid 19 guidelines as per the Sykes website. For example, the hot tub is drained and fresh water is added weekly. Chemicals are also added at least weekly. The model of the hot tub at the property is such that the chemical reservoir is not on view to guests. There has never been 10 cushions on the bed and the 4 that were left for you are cleaned on every changeover. Cushions are left for additional for comfort if needed. In light of Covid-19, we have removed guest books and appliance user-manuals. The fridge is designed to open the way it does. There is an outer door that needs to be opened but inside are two internal doors that give access to the fridge and the freezer. All the kitchen lights were fully functioning at the cottage. We thank you for bringing these to our attention. - Sykes owner relations
