  • "Really disappointed."

My advice is to always read the reviews. I read them after arriving and they generally agreed with us re some of the issues. Confusing instructions for TVs. Blinds in bedrooms make it too light to sleep. But the biggest issue was cleanliness. Sofas dirty and dog hairs. Oven had greasy pan. Fan in bathroom covered in dust. Floors not clean/hoovered. Dog hairs in bedroom. Always used Sykes but this was very disappointing experience. Would have complained to Sykes during holiday but unsure what would happen as where else would we stay at short notice! ? Basic welcome pack. 3 TVs only one of bedroom TVs worked. This meant we could not watch a film as a family in evening so teenager was able to escape to his room instead. With minimal effort this could have been a better experience. But it was a really disappointing holiday home. A shame as it is right next to Cemaes Beach.

  • "The main problem was that the bedrooms stayed light and consequently we did not sleep at all well."

The front bedroom blinds and the streetlight, and the back bedroom blinds and the light from outside meant it never went dark. The bathroom next to the kitchen also was not ideal, and there was a drain smell. The shower door was broken and did not shut properly. The size of the television in the front room seemed too big for the size of the room. Otherwise, the property was nice and clean, and ideal access to all the lovely local seaside.

  • "A welcoming, comfortable and cosy place to stay."

Very well equipped with everything we needed for a two week stay. The location was beautiful and very nice not have to have to go out in the car every day to see the sea as there’s two Sandy beaches on the doorstep. Owner very kind and helpful too. I’d definitely return in the future. Thank you

  • "The fact that there was no back door, the bathroom is in the kitchen/lounge area."

It felt there was no privacy. The pantry/utility where the fridge and microwave was stored, smelt very musty. The television was completely confusing, we got it to work once, my advice… get rid and get new! I’m may, we stayed at another Sykes cottage on the high street… what a difference. That was comfortable, clean, spacious! That one was unavailable,

  • "Great location, very clean and well kept - Not really able to sit and eat at a table as the glass TV speakers were situated on the top of the folded table and there was nowhere else for them to go."

Also could benefit from blackout blinds / curtains in the front room as the sun came straight though. Settees were comfy but too big for the very small room, you couldn't even open/close the door to the single downstairs room. Beds were very comfy and clean, nice bedding, plenty of pillows. very little to no storage in the bedrooms.

  • "It is a really lovely cottage, very well equipped in a perfect location in a seaside location."

The only downside is the bathroom being downstairs, which we knew before we came, so it wasn’t unexpected but it did make night times a little bit awkward. this is the only reason why we can’t give it 10/10 only 9/10. The lack of parking is no problem at all, as the free car park is less than 1 minutes walk away.

  • "Felt that although the accommodation slept 4/5 people - two double beds and a single it was rather 'compact" for 4 adults."

The main factor is the bedroom being downstairs situated right next to the kitchen area. From my recollection this was not specified in the description. In addition it would have be appreciated if there had been a few more basic items included in the kitchen and we only really had breakfasts.

. Only one issue is the hot water is scolding and could do with warning signs as a child could hurt themselves. This is the only negative and would book again

Being with our son and his wife who know the Island well was reward in itself, with visits to all areas well covered. I must also mention the owner of the property who in virtually no time at all came to give us some information we requested .Many thanks to everyone from time of booking to the time of our departure, it will not be our last booking

  • "Cottage was lovely ."

There were 4 adults but not enough comfortable seating ,1sofa a and 1 armchair and a stool ,was a tight fit to seat 3 on the sofa. Would be lovely for 2 adults and a child,or 3 adults. Could do with one or two more bowls for snacks and things and a tray for the oven. Overall we had a lovely break and would stay there again. would be good if doors on front and back were numbered A and B as we had people also trying to get into high st we didnt realise there was another annexe at the back with 1 bedroom. Enjoyed it very much. MM,

  • "Lovely, clean and ideal location."

Couple of niggles, the TV in the downstairs room was not only fiddly but didn’t always work. A dining table would have benefited particularly if you have young children ( maybe replace the unit directly underneath the TV with a portable fold out table)

  • "No adequate dining facilities."

No hooks for any clothes whatsoever. No instructions for use of hob.the three tv's were on different formats and the instructions to operate them were totally inadequate. When I contacted the owner he failed to help and said he couldn't help.He did ring back and said he would visit on the Wednesday, but he failed to turn up.contacted Sykes and they were helpful but so disappointed that Sykes advertise this cottage on their website as it gives them a bad name. We feel that the cottage did not meet requirements and seriously affected the enjoyment of our holiday and believe we should get compensation for the troubles we have had during this trip.most upsetting was the attitude of the owner who didn't care at all about the problems with his accommodation.

  • "The village and local countryside was most pleasant, the cottage being in the village was close to the local facilities and places to eat."

Not being up with the latest technology it would have been handy to have had instructions for the TV system and the induction plate cooker - hence the reduction from full marks on facilities.

On the first floor are two beautiful double bedrooms.

This property provides one shower room and an open plan combined kitchen, dining and seating area with a sofa, armchair and Smart TV where you can relax.

When leaving the property, you are just a short five-minute walk to the beach and coastal pathway, beyond that you can take a 10-minute drive to the local Red Wharf Bay or town of Benlech.

There are ample opportunities for long leisurely walks along the coast, the chance to visit local monuments and churches and explore the fishing harbour.
