  • "Great flat."

.. however, it's on the main road, opposite the train tracks, so expect a lot of noise. There's no free parking at all close to the apartment, the owner might let you use the parking space to the downstairs flat if not in use. A few issues with my stay: only one toilet roll left for a 12-day stay; no washing up liquid at all; the inside of the windows were filthy, and I had to clean then; the 'double' bed is actually only Queen size; the bed on my stay smelt of stale vomit, it took a whole can of Febreze, over several days, to remove the smell; the mattress springs are fine for a few days, uncomfortable for any longer; there is air trapped in the central heating pipes that can be a little noisy; the LG TV is subject to continual buffering on BBC & ITV and only 40% of Freeview channels are available despite my retuning; the overhead shower fed an odd rusty brown coloured water; the handheld shower attachment didn't work at all.

Hi Iain Thank you for your review, I’m very confused with your public review compared to the personal emails you sent directly to me complimenting the apartment and looking to extend your stay and with selected multiple dates throughout the year, if I experienced what you publicly said I would’ve left the apartment immediately or at least raised the issues not try to extend and make multiple future bookings. I believe your public & negative false review was on the back of me been unable to extend your stay free of charge, I also received reports you are very rude to members of the staff on the phone when you found out you were gonna have to pay for additional nights, despite me discounting as much as possible. Also when the Maintance man went to the Property just before Christmas to give you Christmas gifts and cards add local wine You were very aggressive towards him and he was very upset from your rude manner and aggressive attitude. Going back to your public review which I believe you’ve had to edited on several occasions due to false comments I am still confused to what you said to me during your stay for example and i quote Can I just say it's been a pleasure to stay at Port Apartment 2, unqoute - you then attempted to book at least 25 nights in Feb/ march/ April - also saying summer holidays booking was likely from another conversation quote ‘ i actually love Apartment 2, it is absolutely ideal for me and happily wanted to stay later in February, March/April and even likely the six-week summer holiday unquote its disappointing I have to spend time trying to show that a guest has given a false and inaccurate public review, bizarrely, for no reason that we can think of other than we didn’t give you two free nights, which you’re perfectly entitled to be unhappy about and perfectly in your rights to leave a review explaining how disappointed you were about that part, but instead go out your way and deliberately write a negative & false review. • "Whilst the appartment was very good, well maintained and clean, the general area was very disappointing."

The area suffers from extensive boarded up properties on all sides. Outside, the pavement is cluttered with household waste and recycling bins, trade waste bins and broken fridges/freezers from the neighbouring boarded up premises. The property overlooks the station sidings, resulting in a feeling that your staying in an industrial setting. To the rear of the property, the bedroom window overlooks a small yard that really detracts from the property. The predominance of spiked railings and barbed wire meant we kept the blinds firmly close. It's close to the town centre, but unfortunately this too is suffering from the economic downturn. We stayed for three nights and used the appartment as a base to explore wider. For a short stay, and as a base, it was ok.

Hi Bryan, Thanks for your feedback and some points you've raised. I've attached a few points as some information you've provided is false or exaggerated. Ref boarded up buildings - there's only one building attached to the apartments and that's under refurbishment, its also not boarded up there is no residential properties after that. Ref bins - your stayed coincided with bin collection, in the welcome book it shows the dates and we ask politely if the guests will place them on pavement- you didn't so we sent the maintenance team to do so, and placed them in the bin storage the next day. Ref the spiked rails- that's because its a bank! unfortunately they have additional security which is understandable. As you said the apartment is perfect as a base, Holyhead also is a lovely town with many things to do there's amazing coastal paths you can walk to, the Marina is 5 mins away. For low budget accommodation i feel this really is a good option. Please come again and we'll arrange for some places to see you may have missed. EB Property Owner

  • "Once we eventually found it, due to Google Maps inaccuracy, we enjoyed our stay at Port Apartment 2."

The area is quite run down but the place was very clean, comfortable and well equipped. Extremely easy access to the Dublin Ferry line and Train/bus services. The locals were so friendly. Port Apartment 2 was a great base for adventuring Angelesys' beautiful scenery. Thank you to the owners.

Dear Paula, Thanks for your feed back and hope you get a chance to visit again in the future. KR EB Property Owner

  • "There should be a washing machine."

Supplies were very insdequate - only supplies were a hslf used washing up liquid, a toilet roll nearing its end and a pint of milk. There is no room for early check in and late checkout which gives a little flexibility.

Hi Aruna I’ve been looking into some of your points before we replied. With the washing machine, the apartment doesn’t have one and this is reflected on the price and there are launderettes very close to the apartments, i’m considering fitting into the apartments likely this year. i’ve spoken to the cleaning company and they informed me 100%. That was a full toilet roll issued. Milk coffee & Tea with the washing up liquid. They informed me there was a half bottle which was left. with the early check in and the late checkouts as the owner of this is something I’m happy to always do and frequently do it the request never came to me which it would usually do if you had requested it e even though the apartments are very busy We quite often allow guests usually to check in early and where we can help out like we did with the guests in the apartments. Below are you we allowed them a late check out we sent the cleaners elsewhere, and we also drove the guests to the train station KR EB Property Owner

  • "It's a shame that the car parking for this property is in a pay car park as the charges are very expensive."

Hi Gordon, Yes i believe it’s £6 for 24 hour and for disabled card holders it’s free. ( Blue badge) There’s also road parking opposite which maybe cheaper, Also when possible we do allow for the use of the ground floor apartment car park when it’s free. Thanks Again KR EB Property Owner

About the location

HOLYHEAD

Trearddur Bay 3 miles.

The bustling town of Holyhead rests on the North West coast of the Isle of Anglesey, the largest town on the island and perhaps known best for being the main ferry port to Ireland. Steeped in history, the town boasts the remains of Roman town walls and forts, medieval burial chambers and stone village foundations. Explore the Breakwater Country Park, a former quarry, which offers designated walks through the grounds. The park is full of interesting wildlife, most notably the seals who visit the Holyhead coast, and outlines the amazing construction of the world's longest breakwater, some 1.8 miles, which today protects the harbour. Visit the colourful marina with its yachts and tall ships, or the town's maritime museum, with its tales of 100 shipwrecks in the vicinity. Day trips to Ireland can be enjoyed easily from here, with Dublin just 90 minutes away on the fast ferry. With spectacular cliff top walks over Holyhead Mountain, golden sandy beaches at the award winning Trearddur Bay and the Snowdonia National Park just a 20 minute drive away, this is a superb holiday location, at any time of the year.
