  • "The property was lovely and clean, the owners very very helpful, would definitely recommend this property."

Just one thing, it would be helpful to have had a mirror other than the bathroom one, rather difficult drying hair, other than that, superb.

  • "What a lovely holiday cottage."

Clean, comfortable, excellent facilities and everything you would need for a break away. Perfect location for Snowdon and the surrounding area

  • "Overall a beautiful, spotlessly clean cottage in a great location for exploring the area."

The owners are lovely and available if any problems arise. The only (slight) negatives on a personal preference level for us were, the mattress was too firm and the sofa wasn’t very comfortable. An extra mirror, maybe in the hall or bedroom would be good too. All in all we had an excellent week and would have no hesitation recommending this cottage.

  • "Stayed Thursday to Sunday for a long weekend to celebrate our 55th wedding anniversary."

It lived up to all our expectations and was spotlessly clean. It was excellent value for money and the owners could not have been more helpful. Well placed for all the tourist sights, we went to Beaumaris and Criccieth, both well worth a visit. Overall highly recommended.

  • "The accommodation was truly first class, the landlord gave us lots of information of places to visit via text, and was on hand if we had any problems."

The accommodation was clean tidy and vey well equipped. The shower was awesome. The bed was very comfortable and at night time was very quiet, cant remember how long ago it was, when we slept this well.# Beautiful views and outside private space (for outdoor eating and drinking). Very much value for money and great for couples looking for that romantic break,

Superb place to stay, village and pub within walking distance, fantastic roads to ride, and a host who secures our motorbike in the garage, highly recommended

  • "3rd July, 2021 Just had the most enjoyable week at Afon Rhos Bach, Llanrug."

The holiday annex was really modern, clean and cosy: comfortable bed, lovely pillows & fabulous rain shower (towels were provided too) . The well equipped kitchen served us well as we cooked for ourselves all week. It's set in a peaceful location - yet easily accessed within minutes from main road - surrounded by fields with some sheep and cows and views of green hills and even the peak of Snowdon. A great location for walkers or for daytrippers to castles and pretty locations. The owners are really friendly & helpful and provided some extras to start our week: lovely Bara Brith (a cake), milk - a few tea bags, coffee, sugar in case we forgot - dishwasher tablets, washing powder etc.

  • "We’ve just had a lovely week at this property."

Fantastic views from the lounge/ kitchen window with a large lawned area surrounding the cottage. Spotlessly clean and modern kitchen with everything we needed. Nice bathroom with good shower. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Llanrug is a good base for lots of local walks and other places to visit nearby. Good food at the Glyntwrog inn in the village. Would definitely recommend Afon Rhos Bach.

About the location

LLANRUG

Llanberis 2 miles; Caernarfon 4 miles; Betws-y-Coed 15 miles.

Llanrug is a small village with two pubs, two shops, a Post Office, a hotel with indoor swimming pool and fitness room, and a 9 hole golf course is nearby. The village is situated in the foothills of the Snowdonia Mountain Range, only 3 miles from famous Llanberis. Dominated by the grandeur of the Snowdon Massif, Llanberis is flanked by two lakes, Llyn Padarn and Llyn Peris, and is one of the most popular mountain tourist centres in the Snowdonia National Park. Llanberis is something of a 'mecca' for walkers and climbers, being the starting point for the ascent of Snowdon - the highest mountain in Wales. The ascent can be made either by train, on the Snowdonia Mountain Railway, or on foot along one of the many routes to the summit. Llanberis boasts excellent places to eat and drink and a great choice of shopping. Just 4 miles from Llanrug, on the coast, is Caernarfon with its magnificent 13th century castle and town walls and close by are National Trust properties at Penrhyn and Plas Newydd and many wonderful beaches.
