  • "A lovely holiday in a great house."

Thanks very much for the feedback and I am so glad you enjoyed the stay. Property Owner

  • "The cottage was lovely and spacious but feels like it could do with a bit of TLC and a refresh, there were water marks on the ceiling, badly fitted lino in en-suite, shower heads leaks, shower door doesn’t close properly, bits of your plaster coming of the wall."

Although clean bedding and towels were provided it would benefit from a deep clean as furniture was quite dusty in the place, the kitchen tops were sticky and crockery dirty. The images need updating as it shows a large field, which in part drew us to the property as wanted somewhere for the kids to run around but this is no longer included. The track down to the property also has some large pot holes so if you have a low car you are likely to damage the underneath. The owner was lovely and friendly and helped sort any issues quickly.

  • "We had a fabulous stay - the barns are bigger than they look on the photos and having the space to relax in was marvellous."

Host was helpful but not overly attentive and facilities were as described. Having the piano and open fire were pluses and the enclosed garden was very useful

  • "Fabulous property."

Sone lovely old quirky features. Loved the real fire, drying rack and Aga, definitely a winner. Huge property with lots of space for more than 8 people. Our dogs loved it too. Really accommodating host and owner, nothing was too much trouble he was always there when you needed him but not at all encroaching or in your face even though he lived on site. Would highly recommend

  • "The owner is very helpful and works hard to provide everything you need."

This is a big property . Great shower. Lots of kit in the kitchen though a couple of oven proof dishes would be good but masses of cutlery and crocks. Vic’s driveway is tarmac but the lane leading to it is in poor repair and quite steep though my Mini Countryman managed it! All in all a lovely place with a very helpful owner.

Thanks a million and I will make a note of the oven dishes. Thanks. Property Owner

  • "We really enjoyed our stay at Old Barns, wished it could have been longer!"

Excellent facilities & very comfortable especially our bed. Just to note, I know the rain was particularly heavy (Storm Eunice ) but one of the velux windows was dripping water onto the carpet.

Thanks for pointing out the drip to me. Glad you enjoyed the stay. Property Owner

  • "This property has got so much potential!"

It is in a lovely location with a beautiful beach nearby. The barn was spacious, great for large parties and has a good vibe. It was clean and tidy. However we were disappointed and felt that the photos posted on the site didn't reflect the current condition of the barn. We felt it was tired and in need of some repairs and freshening up. There were some issues that we have noted and passed onto the owner who seemed warm and welcoming. With a little updating this property will be amazing.

The winter season is when the freshening up happens. Since your stay, there has been a significant amount of repairs and decorating. Thank you for your comments. Property Owner

The owner has addressed the door locks, these have now been replaced. In relation to the oil smell, the previous guests requested for it to be turned off as they were too hot, therefore turning it back on before your arrival is why oil smell was caused. The property is checked following cleans on changeovers if you would of contacted us during your stay we would of been very happy to assist you in being able to enjoy your stay better.

  • "The pictures don’t do it justice."

The house is enormous with double bedrooms at each end of a massive lounge area and generous kitchen and effectively 2 twin rooms upstairs, one self contained with the other being the mezzanine. There a 2 shower rooms as well as an en suite with loos in all and a separate WC. The garden is quite large with a nice decked seating area and our dog loved running around (and found no escape routes). Lovely walks in the surrounding area and the location means all of Anglesey and the North Wales mainland are within easy reach. Would happily stay again.

  • "The pictures and information about this house just don't do it justice!"

Its huge and beautiful! It starts with the most magical drive down the canopied driveway in to an amazing courtyard. The house is so well set out for families! Two huge master style bedrooms one is the secluded quite side of the house and another in the other side with the other 4 single beds. This is the most amazing house for families, huge warm kitchen with a great big dining table. A living room/tv area you will never want to leave. A expansive back garden with is secure enough to let your dog roam in. The childrens/single bed rooms are also huge. Plenty of storage too!. This house has everything you would need a large utility with washer dryer, iron, cot and high chair. My children adored the large outdoor spaces and the massive amount of hiding places. A truly beautiful home. Vic was so welcoming and made us feel right at home. We will be back!

The property

Old Barns holiday cottage is in a serene location, ideal for wildlife enthusiasts as it backs on to a vast area of RSPB land.

Located in the very centre of Anglesey means you are in a perfect position to explore all that the island has to offer.

If you can bring yourself to leave the peaceful surroundings of the Old Barns, you will find Newborough Beach, arguably the most picturesque location in all of North Wales, just a few minutes away. The sitting room is a really spacious area.

One end has a seating area housing bookshelves and a flatscreen TV, and the other has a carpeted seating area surrounding a large open fireplace.

French windows lead out to a decked area and lawned gardens. There is a gallery bedroom/sitting area overlooking the main sitting room which has twin beds. The kitchen is perfect for entertaining.

In the day it is bright and airy, but in the evening you can close the thick, luxurious curtains and transform it into an intimate and cosy setting, perfect for a dinner to remember.

There is a large dining table in the centre of this room.

The kitchen is equipped with both an Aga and an electric cooker and microwave as well as a large American fridge/freezer, and the most important thing when you are on holiday - a dishwasher! On the ground floor, located at opposite ends of the house, are two bedrooms comprising a master bedroom with en suite and another double bedroom.

There are two shower rooms downstairs with shower, loo and wash basin.

There is a twin room and a cloakroom upstairs. The garden is fantastic!

Open the doors of the sitting room and you can walk out onto the decking where you will find garden furniture.

Sit here and enjoy the peace and quiet of your surroundings with a cuppa, or a nice glass of wine.

The lawned area is great if you have children that want to let off some steam where you can keep an eye on their adventures. Typical of many of our rural properties, access to the cottage is by a rough track. The house is based around a gravel courtyard, and its large windows make the most of the views out over the fine Anglesey countryside.

The house is so well suited for large groups and families with a number of places to relax whether it be in front of a roaring fire, basking in sunshine or escaping in the gallery.

The kitchen is superb and has so much space that you will be able to cook a feast and still have room to sit around and chat.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £100.
