  • "This is a wooden chalet in a wooded setting."

    Work has gone on to upgrade the exterior and facilities. New bathroom, new oven/ hob. Exterior cladding new front windows. It just smells very musty.All the interior is wood. Its clean and comfortable, everything you need in a really good location. Easy to walk into Lamlash- shops/pubs. Handy for Brodrick and exploring . Even a washing machine on site. Yes you need £1 coins for the meter. But it's not difficult to manage, and it's good to be energy efficient. Value for money.

  • "Firstly we had a lovely time on Arran."

    The lodge was ample but needs some work on it as It was partly painted and appears to be in the process of renovation!!!! Windows not very clean and crack on kitchen unit door. Chair arms loose. There is great potential for the actual sight. Definitely go back to Arran bot probably not to stay in this lodge.

  • "The lodge was rated 3* which is probably the correct rating."

    It was clean, shower was good, beds were comfortable, but, as others have said it could perhaps benefit from an update. The caretaker was extremely helpful, nothing was too much bother. We didn't actually use much electricity as with it being summer we didn't have radiators on, so, having the £1 slot meter wasn't an issue. Probably used £5/£7 in 3 days which is probably what we would use at home. It is quite basic, but, then it doesn't describe itself as 5*!! If we were visiting Arran again in the Summer months we would definitely stay here again.

  • "We arrived 27/10/25 to a freezing cold cabin which cost us £6 for 2 hrs of plug in heaters to heat the place up."

    In folder provided it states £5 per day left towards costs which wasnt, when queried we were told via text that the comment should of been removed and that was it. Information says fuel included but we spent more than £30 on electric for our 5 days and half the time sat cold due to high costs. Blind in bathroom broken, cabin damp even our own pillows got damp, external doors with gaps to let the cold in, very basic amenities in the cabin and we had to request towels for 3 people as only left for 2 people. No actual pathway to the lodge, zero lighting from car to cabin at night. Very poor wifi and the dvd player didn't even have power when plugged in. Toilet blocked on arrival so next day owners informed and someone dealt with the issue same day. The whole place needs updating massively, information folder needs updating to reflect extra costs as its conflicting information

  • "I have to say we did enjoy our stay here very quite and out the way which we where looking for."

    Although on arrival the lodge we had booked had not been cleaned from last visitors we had to be moved to different lodge. Definitely could be doing with a bit of an upgrade. We were out and about a lot of the time so didn’t spend that much time in lodge. Would recommend them getting a handyman few jobs needed done

    Just back from a week here. Found the chalet very clean and beds and couches extremely comfortable .The site is very peaceful and most dog friendly and the owner very helpful. Christine

  • "The property was damp and dirty, made everything smell."

    Had booked for 4 people but only given 2 sets of towels. Shower had 2 settings - scalding hot or freezing cold. Very overpriced for level of property. Disappointing and wouldn't recommend or use Sykes again.

  • "We stayed here for a week in May."

    Very beautiful location but sadly the lodges are in need of a makeover . The kitchen area was clean, however the bedrooms and bathrooms were not. We found tissues etc in the bedroom behind the chest of drawers. The bathroom was filthy and mouldy .Also smelled of damp. The kitchen tap dropped constantly and we had difficulty locking the side door- handy man told us owners were aware but did not want to pay him to fix it ! Needed way more than £5 a day in the meter to keep towels dry and lodge warm. The main livingroom area was ok with a good view. On a plus point - 15 minute walk into beautiful Lamlash. We have used Sykes cottages many times, however this was the poorest standard of accommodation we have experienced. With a bit of care and attention and a good clean would be a decent place to stay. Unfortunately my advice would be to avoid . Arran itself is a beautiful place to visit - we will return. I recommend the kings caves, waterfalls, Brodick Castle and glen Rosa walk. The whisky distilleries are good, cheese shop and chocolate shop in Brodick also well worth visiting .

  • "A delightful stay in a homely & cosy Lodge."

    The location is perfect, so peaceful with lots of birdsong and a very friendly rabbit who came to visit. A half an hour stoll into Lamlash, a very pretty town with great bars and restaurants. Paying by coins for the electricity & washing and drying machines, for us, added to it's charm.

  • "We arrived late to find the lodge very cold,the bed was damp,our clothes started to smell of damp by mid week."

    We got the lodge nice and warm in a day or two,The rest of the week was very nice and we enjoyed our stay.When at the end of our stay we took our bed sheets of and noticed the protector was stained and the bed was badly stained.

  • "We had a lovely time at the lodge however there were a couple of down sides."

    The house stunk of varnish as the floor had recently been varnished and our clothes stunk too because of this. There was no enclosed garden or veranda for the dog to run around in as is listed in the description. This was a big reason for choosing the lodge so was disappointing. Apart from that we enjoyed our time in Arran and the lodge would’ve been perfect if it hadn’t been for these 2 issues.

This inviting hideaway is ideal for meetings of friends or family as it provides a welcoming atmosphere from which to enjoy the breathtaking surroundings and quality time spent together.

You will be greeted by an open floor plan in your new one-storey lodge, which has been carefully planned to meet all of your needs.

When you have all you need in the kitchen, cooking your favourite meals is simple.

The dining area, which is next to the kitchen, can accommodate four people with ease and offers a welcoming setting for enjoying home-cooked meals and exchanging tales of the day's activities.

Moving into the sitting room, you'll discover a welcoming area to relax in with an electric fireplace to keep you warm all winter!

Your four-legged friends can safely and securely run around on the enclosed front decking and the surrounding countryside while you relax and take in the peaceful surroundings.

The lodge features two spotless bedrooms, a double and a twin, offering a tranquil retreat after a long day of exploring.

With an overhead shower and a bath, the family bathroom is a great place to take a quick shower or a long soak.
