Five stars plus for the views from the living room and deck across to the small isles. Tremendous place to relax and unwind. 8 or 9 steps to door so anyone with mobility issues would need to take note.

It was a joy to sit and otter spot from decking/balcony every morning and evening. A very comfortable and clean property, with plenty of space for 4 adults and 2 teenagers!

  • "Comfortable cottage, photos don’t really do it justice, it’s bigger than it appears and the view from the balcony is absolutely stunning!"

Whole area was beautiful and the beaches were fantastic. A real gem of a location.

  • "The place was spotlessly clean and the view from the balcony is breath-taking."

Binoculars/telescope are a must. The garden is fully secured for pets. Directions could be improved. From Kilchoan initially follow signs for Lighthouse then Portuairk. After the sign saying you are in Portuairk, you turn left immediately left down a track.

  • "Borve House sits in an elevated position overlooking the cove at Portuairk and has fabulous sea views towards Sanna Bay, the Small Isles and Skye."

The beach at Portuairk is lovely to explore especially at low tide when there are many rock pools. The hillside coastal walk to Sanna Bay from the cottage is stunning and Sanna Bay is a beautiful, large and quiet sandy beach. The night skies and the stars are fabulous to enjoy with no light pollution. Borve House is very dog friendly and was also very clean and Coronavirus precautions apparent which gave reassurance. Locally the Community Garden honesty shop had great fruit and veg and Ferry Stores at Kilchoan had all the supplies we needed and had good coronavirus measures in place. Overall we enjoyed a wonderful week at Borve House in this stunning and peaceful place.

Lovely walks nearby. Dog friendly. Also, the property was cleaned to an impeccably high standard when we arrived, which was reassuring during COVID.

  • "The view from the property is spectacular."

It changes every few minutes as the clouds cross the sky. There is a short cut to the seashore which is beautiful and Sanna bay is a short walk and scramble by foot and also accessible by car. It's great for walkers, photographers or artists or just those who love a wild landscape.

  • "Beautiful cottage set in stunning scenery."

So peaceful and within a 2 or 3 minute walk to a lovely small cove and beach, ideal for dog walking. Even in present situation with Covid-19, where advice to owners is to reduce soft furnishings and other unnecessary items to minimalise risk of infection, the cottage was still very comfortable and well equipped. Owner checked to ensure we were ok on arrival then we enjoyed the peace and quiet. Could have stayed on!
