  • "This could be a lovely stay if it had some time and money spent on it."

We stayed 5 nights and for the £615 I expected more. The views are amazing of the Loch and the wildlife was beautiful but that’s where it ends. We walked into a damp smelly house that was barely clean. The fridge was dirty, the bath had hair in the plug hole, the rooms were freezing and damp. The sofa was old and so uncomfortable we had to use cushions to plump it up and it smelled awful. We put the electric heaters on in the bedroom and front room and left them on for our 5 days. So many spiders and cobwebs everywhere. Windows dirty inside and out. The handbook for guests needs updating and the photos on your website definitely need updating. There’s black mould in the bedroom, skirting boards in the whole house are dirty. Yes it’s an old building 1901 and I understand that it won’t be a show home but I would expect it to be warm and comfortable and clean. Not happy and will definitely not recommend “South Lodge” as a place to stay..
