    It is very well equipped with absolutely everything you would need. It’s clean and beds are very comfy, great heating in it too for the colder days! We will be back again!

  • "The caravan was clean and well presented."

    It was well heated and plenty of hot water with a great shower! All kitchen equipment was provided along with towels and bedding. The caravan is located in a quiet area with beautiful views. It’s a short drive into Kippford which is a beautiful area to explore. We will definitely come back!

  • "Happy Times was a real get away from it all break."

    The property was spotlessly clean, very comfortable and had everything needed. The location was perfect for exploring the local area and beyond and the literature provided was really useful in helping us to decide where to go and what to see. This pet-friendly, open-plan lodge is the perfect choice for couples, families or friends seeking a tranquil and picturesque escape to the Scottish countryside.

Upon arrival, you’ll be welcomed by a single-storey lodge boasting two inviting bedrooms – a double with an en-suite cloakroom and a twin.

After a day of exploring the area, freshen up in the shower room with a walk-in shower, basin, and WC.

You’ll also find an open-plan living space with a fully-equipped kitchen, dining area, and a sitting area with a gas fire and sofa bed; while the designated chef of the group whips up a delicious meal, you can step out onto the enclosed decked area and admire the picturesque views of the rural idyll with a glass of wine in hand.

For your nearest hub of amenities, head into Dalbeattie or travel a little further to reach Palnackie, also home to a selection of shops and pubs, whilst for attractions, be sure to tour the Dalbeattie Museum Trust, hike through Dalbeattie Forest Town Wood, or try your hand at some mountain biking at the 7Stanes Centre.

Travelling towards Castle Douglas, spend time with nature at the Threave Nature Reserve and National Trust for Scotland, take in the beautiful landscape of Threave Garden, or enjoy a peaceful stroll around Carlingwark Loch, ending with a bag of fish and chips from Moore's Fish & Chip Shop.

Castle Douglas 6 miles; Kirkcudbright 13.5 miles; Dumfries 14 miles.

The attractive country town of Dalbeattie is nestled in the south west of Scotland. The town sits within a wooded valley on the River Urr and provides access to the picturesque Solway Coast with its miles of beaches and pretty fishing villages. Dalbeattie is originally known for its granite quarry, which exported stone all over the world, most notably for the Eddystone Lighthouse and Thames Embankment. Today it is renowned for its outdoor activities with the world famous 7stanes mountain biking complex nearby as well as forest walks in Glentrool, where you can follow in the footsteps of Richard Hannay in The Thirty Nine Steps. Dalbeattie and the surrounding area offer panoramic views of the Solway Firth, the Lake District and the Galloway Hills. A great location, which has something for everyone.
