“Perfect place for a family get-away”

Beautiful location on a farm out in the country but very close to lots of activities and lovely beaches. The accommodation is stunning and spacious, the owner welcoming and helpful, and our wee dog loved the walks in the lanes. Highlights for the family were being able to relax in the hot tub after a day out and having a huge lounge area with plenty of space for two boys and a baby to play and four grown ups to chill. That's when the boys weren't out enjoying the trampoline, football pitch and ...

The accommodation is stunning and spacious, the owner welcoming and helpful, and our wee dog loved the walks in the lanes. Highlights for the family were being able to relax in the hot tub after a day out and having a huge lounge area with plenty of space for two boys and a baby to play and four grown ups to chill. That's when the boys weren't out enjoying the trampoline, football pitch and swing ball which the owner thoughtfully provided. There's also a sun room to bask during the day or watch the sunsets at night. The views all around are to die for and it's just so peaceful. None of us wanted to come home and we'll definitely be back.

“This is a wonderful place for a family holiday.”

Beautiful setting out in the country but very close to lots of places to visit and super beaches too. The house is spacious, comfortable and very well equipped and the owner couldn't have been more helpful. We enjoyed our stay so much none of us wanted to leave and we'll definitely be back.

Clauchan Farm

A charm-filled group of five cottages situated on a working farm, nestling in the Girthon Valley surrounded by some of the best scenery in Galloway with great walking available, both woodland and coastal. About the location

GATEHOUSE OF FLEET

Kirkcudbright 8 miles; Newton Stewart 15 miles; Castle Douglas 15 miles.

Peaceful in its pastel colours, the small country town of Gatehouse of Fleet lies on the Solway Firth, in the midst of Dumfries & Galloway countryside, with good sandy beaches a five-minute drive away. The town was founded in the 1760s as a mill community, and today the nearby Mill on the Fleet - a visitor centre in a former bobbin mill - tells the tale of Gatehouse’s cotton-spinning days. Today, there are several shops in the town including a small supermarket, chemist, bank and Post Office, along with two book/gift shops, a kilt-making centre and two cafes. All four pubs in the town have restaurant facilities and welcome children. Castle Douglas, a 15-minute drive away, offers an extensive range of shops, Threave Gardens and boating on Carlingwark Loch.
